We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jeriah Garcia. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jeriah below.
Alright, Jeriah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
The definition of the word outlandish means foreign or alien, exotic, different, not from here. So that’s why I chose to name my company Outlandish ENT. Because we are exactly that. different. There’s 2 more reasons why I chose the name, one is because of my faith as a Christian I know and believe that God sets his children aside, he separates us and makes us unique, on top of that, EVERYONE out there whether or a believer or not is the only person that can be themselves. So outlandish is about being true to who you are, and being creatively and uniquely yourself.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got drawn into music and entertainment simply by just being a fan of it. But just like I personally am a fan of many different types of entertainment, so does the Outlandish company offer several different types of services. Our main focus is music, a small collective of like minded artists whom we help with booking, content, music videos, live performances, etc. But outside of music endeavors the Outlandish ENT. provides event services for any client seeking to add sound, lighting, or anything AV to their event, we also have a podcast that will be launching before the end of 2023, covering various topics with all kinds of guests, We also throw an annual music festival every fall in Fort Worth, Texas, this will be year three of the outlandish fest. We also dabble in fashion/merch for our artists and will hopefully soon be creating short films. Amidst all of these things, we hope to encourage people and be a source of hope and light in the world because these days there is a lot of negativity going around.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect for me currently as an artists is the freedom to fully create and be myself and doing what’s fun and what sounds good to me, not creating from a place of seeking to gain fans or popularity, but just truly expressing myself in that moment. If people rock with it, then they rock with it, and if they don’t, they don’t.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I think something that non creatives fail to consider is the time/effort we spend in our art. for example it may take several attempts of writing a hook before you get what really hits, you might invest hours of editing a video only to decide it’s not what you want and have to start over, there will be countless late nights up just planning/thinking of your next project… and this is completely normal, however I think folks see an album and consume it and are ready for the next, but don’t really digest it slowly enough to fully appreciate it. because chances are it was derived slowly and a lot of thought/trial/error/restarts were put into creating the final product.
