We were lucky to catch up with Jeremy Wilson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jeremy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I became aware I wanted to be in the Spanish language speaker space, for professional and leisure path purposes and derived the desire from a summer living with a sibling in her north Texas residence, after having completed high school and entered studies at the, Natchitoches’, local university. The desire to learn, for use, the Spanish language was nurtured with the opportunity to work the particular summer in a Barnes & Noble bookstore and purchase for my need-Spanish language learner books. From such a time it has been an effort I knew I’d like to use and grow in the creative and professional space with. With a return after summer to Louisiana I furthered my direction on such path utilizing the television material and books, again for further language learning nutrition, at times of lack of surplus of usage opportunities.
Jeremy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I provide language services, and focus in the music area with writing and song production and visualizations for self promoted and self created material. Utilizing wardrobe, visual images, language, and music to bring a hospitality inducing service to the local region where I provide language interpreting service and other service based need assistance. I began with music at the age of five years old, and spent years training in classical piano and vocal technique and utilization which have nurtured my entire being in their preparation & learning experiences and lessons. Fine arts festivals in my teen and younger youth years as a musician and vocalist have carried me to Louisiana state best songwriter, vocal ensemble, and male vocal soloist categories then further on to a U.S. national level. Expansion to the international music platform arrived in the latter portion of my university studies, considering – all the bachelor degree level studies didn’t consecutively span, with regards to the South American, particularly Colombian based, music. Time at Walt Disney World as a university student intern ahead of the aforementioned South American expansion, also, was nurturing in nature to the aspects that align with the services I seek & have sought to provide; as well as training time spent on Wall Street with a financial institution known as JPMorgan Chase & Co in the years during my New York City residency. Proud of these achievements, I’d like followers, fans and potential clients to be aware of the aspects and the round-out or range of services available with hospitality and language based service needs.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Language learning materials have significantly been influential in the growth and substance of knowledge amassed during my years as a language/hospitality service provider. A book with industry related/directed material is always a direct go to as it is a specific outliner and the age of published material is also provisionary with aspect to new language uses and classic speech or writing.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I once was at a homeless point in New York City, seeking shelter at a homeless shelter. I however didn’t have to stay in the shelter as a colleague became aware of my housing status and stepped in with a place I could get off his hands monthly as he traveled to live and work in a southern state. Fully furnished and cost effective, it was a very descent place with it’s sense of nurture & charming wall brick (for example), patterns, pillows, tech, and kitchen space. Alternatively when without transportation due extended lack of work after a relocation to the local region, a bicycle was the used method for months to around a couple years. The bicycle carried me to and from work as I pedaled it rain or shine once a position (considerably low in wage) became available while establishing some fundamental living aspects more proper and seeming. Other resilience exhibiting times present themselves in my thought processing and I appreciate each opportunity to learn, grow, and gather knowledge.
