Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jeremy Sauer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jeremy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I’d say that it was about 20 years ago that I first wanted to make photography a professional path for myself. Unfortunately, life happens and the story of the “Starving Artist” becomes reality. To this day photography is my art form and not per say my profession. I have made professional sales, however, not enough to completely rely on my art as a sole form of income. All that being said, if there’s any agent/broker looking for an artist…give me a shout. Lol
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Photography has been a love of mine for most of my life. My father gave me my first film camera when I was about 8 years old. My body work is usually captured outdoors. From landscape and wildlife to aviation and street photography, I try to capture more than just an image. I try to capture the feeling of the moment.. As I see it anyway. I can’t say that I solve problems for anyone, that’s not what my art is about. My main focus is to provide a piece of art that someone can loveand enjoy, and possibly inspire someone to create their own art. I think what sets me apart from others is the fact that I‘m not afraid of imperfection in my imagery. Sometimes I like imperfection as it invites a sense of reality to the image.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to get to a point in life where I can focus solely on my art and enjoy life at its fullest. my entire adult life has been about helping others and service before self. As I am now “middle aged“,
its time to focus on self maybe just a bit more and do something that I love.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
To me I think the most rewarding aspect is inspiring others to be creative and putting a smile on someone’s face when they view my art.
