Jeremy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
I was ready when I was ready. I believe we started our business in the right time, August 2019. 8 months before the world shut down! What a wonderful lesson in perseverance. The first eight months were humming along and the years since have been the real growth personally and professionally. Starting earlier would have had its own challenges and I wasn’t spiritually mature enough. Starting later, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to experience struggle as deeply. It truly was divine timing.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are JADE(Jeremy, Aaren, Denise and Evan) a family owned healing business. The sound got into us nine years ago. I started working with singing bowls and meditation and it lead to Reiki and other energetic wellness modalities. We assist people to find peace and tranquility in an often chaotic world through sound, energy and movement. I think our attention to the individual and the compassion and concern through communication and connection is our greatest asset. I am so grateful that I get to share this gift with our family and you!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Knowing my “why”! I think mission, vision and values statement is imperative to the success of anyone starting out. It is not easy to own and operate a small business. Do you know your why? Meditation and sound healing saved my life. I was in a dark place and now I can offer my experiences to help others in darkness. That is my why, to help people find an inner tranquility, which has helped me to let go of the, “How is it going to work.” Know my why, knowing that my work has real power to change lives gives me the resilience to move forward when life, friends, and circumstances tell me otherwise.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
We have operated our business on three main principles, honesty, integrity and service. We had a disastrous sound bath, overbooked it, humidity, squawking birds and real opportunity for growth. We ended up crediting people because we didn’t feel right with the product we put out and in the end practiced the principles our business is founded on.
