My journey towards pursuing a creative and artistic path professionally has been a dynamic one. While the spark of passion ignited back in 2010 when I first aspired to become a professional singer, life’s twists and turns led me down different paths for a while. Despite facing various challenges and setbacks, the flame of creativity never truly extinguished within me.

However, it wasn’t until May of 2023 that I made the conscious decision to wholeheartedly commit to my artistic dreams once again. It was a pivotal moment for me, a realization that my passion for music was an intrinsic part of who I am, and that I owed it to myself to pursue it with unwavering dedication.

Since then, I’ve embarked on a journey of self-discovery and artistic growth, channeling my experiences and emotions into my music. Every step forward reaffirms my belief in the power of creativity to inspire, heal, and connect people. I’m grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passion professionally, and I’m committed to embracing every challenge and triumph that comes my way on this artistic journey.

My journey into the realm of music and entertainment has been a testament to passion, perseverance, and the power of embracing one’s unique identity. As an R&B singer, actor, and President of the record label, Barz Express, I’ve carved a distinct path in the industry that reflects my Indo-Guyanese American heritage and my love for R&B music.

My introduction to music began at a young age, where I found solace and expression in the melodies and lyrics of legendary R&B acts like Dru Hill, Boyz II Men, and 112. Drawing inspiration from artists who spoke to the depths of human emotion, I knew that music would be instrumental in my life.

Barz Express stands at the intersection of creativity and excellence, striving to deliver high-quality music and entertainment experiences that resonate with audiences worldwide. As a label, we are committed to nurturing diverse talent and amplifying voices that reflect the rich tapestry of our global community.

What sets me apart as an artist is my unique blend of Indo-Guyanese American heritage and R&B sensibility. Through my music, I explore themes of love, pain, heartbreak, struggle, and friendship, weaving together narratives that resonate with listeners on a deeply personal level.

I am most proud of the authenticity and sincerity that permeates my work, both as an artist and as the President of Barz Express. Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

One of the most profound chapters in my journey is the story of my battle with alcohol addiction and the remarkable resilience it took to overcome it. For years, I grappled with the grip of addiction, which clouded my vision and stifled my potential. It was a dark and tumultuous period, marked by moments of despair and self-doubt.

However, in the face of adversity, I found the strength to confront my demons and embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery. With unwavering determination and the support of loved ones, I made the courageous decision to reclaim my life and break free from the chains of addiction.

As of this moment, I am over 10 months sober, a milestone that represents not only my resilience but also my unwavering commitment to personal growth and transformation. In this time of sobriety, I’ve achieved remarkable milestones that once seemed out of reach.

I recorded and released my debut EP, “Vibes,” pouring my heart and soul into every lyric and melody. It was a cathartic journey of self-expression, a testament to the power of music to heal and uplift the spirit.

In addition to my musical endeavors, I also assumed the role of President at Barz Express, a testament to my ability to lead and inspire others. It’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly, as I strive to create a nurturing and empowering environment for artists to thrive.

Furthermore, I recently graduated from the New York City College of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Professional and Technical Writing, specializing in Biology. This achievement represents the culmination of years of hard work and dedication, a testament to my resilience and determination to pursue excellence in all aspects of my life.

My journey is a testament to the transformative power of resilience and the profound impact it can have on one’s life. It’s a reminder that no matter how dark the road may seem, there is always hope on the horizon, waiting to be embraced. Through perseverance and unwavering determination, we can overcome any obstacle and emerge stronger, wiser, and more resilient than ever before.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is undoubtedly the opportunity to connect with audiences on a deeply personal level. For me, there’s nothing quite like the electrifying energy of being on stage, pouring my heart and soul into every lyric and melody, and feeling the reciprocated energy from the crowd.

As an artist, I strive to create music that resonates with my audience – lyrics that speak to their experiences, emotions, and struggles. The magic happens when I step onto that stage, and the music comes alive, forging an intimate connection with the people who are listening.

In those moments, time seems to stand still as barriers dissolve, and we’re united in a shared experience of raw emotion and authenticity. It’s a transcendent feeling, knowing that my music has the power to evoke emotions, spark conversations, and inspire change.

The stage becomes a sacred space where I can fully express myself and connect with others on a profound level. Whether it’s through a soulful ballad or an upbeat anthem, the connection forged with the audience is what makes every performance truly special and rewarding.
