Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jeremy McZeal. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jeremy , thanks for joining us today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
I started my journey in college between 2006-2010. I found myself not being happy with the systems in place. Which has convinced us feel that the way things were operating systematically, was correct, or the only way of getting things done. At this point, I had a whole kid, so I needed to go to school because I was told that would make life easier, but the marketplace was moving faster than life, I had a full time job, school full time, and football full time. HOW? Right?
“I never saw a man fight so hard out of his situation, to end right back up where he started.” I didn’t want that for myself.
I was 14 years old though, when I knew I was meant for more. I had been on my own, my mom struggled with alcoholism and my dad wasn’t present. He struggled with drugs and prison for quite some time. Being a decorated Marine, I didn’t expect that from him. That never made me treat them any wrong way. I just knew from that point, the legacy was all on me. I had always been a writer, I never cared for modeling. However, at this point in my life, I realized I needed to use all my talents .
I came up seeing my sisters and mom get abused by men and having to fight them off. I remember seeing drugs being a normal happening around the way, I had to be better. I dual majored in Kinesiology and Education, I dabbled in being a teacher for a few years. I decided to pursue Physical Therapy and do quite well, however, getting let go made me feel weak and helpless.
I vowed to never let my life be in the hands of another man or woman for that matter. I got into Network Marketing around 22 years old, I failed over and over again and people laughed at me. They told me I would make it in that stereotyped industry where they hassled people to join them and earning profits off others. My family and friends wouldn’t even hear my out. I wanted to quit a thousand times over, but I understood that this was just a roadblock, that was in the way of my blessings. I couldn’t let the process punk me out of my promise.
I remember the repossessed vehicles, the roach infested apartments, sleeping in my car because my best friend at the time put me out after asking me to move in. I remember going to jail for going 47 in a 50, yet was told the 45 sign was a half a mile back.
Those sort of statements, would break a person that didn’t go through the personal, spiritual, physical, emotional, and psychological development I had to endure. I developed a thick skin to NOs. I actually welcomed them. I became well read, well traveled, and extremely knowledgeable on life, circumstances, and ways to remove myself from negative thinking.
I attracted a gentleman on the internet, who actually became my mentor and he told me, “If you follow my leadership, you’ll change lives, and you’ll make more money than you ever have.” I, then, partnered with this gentleman in a network marketing company called PlanNet Marketing which freed me from having to work a job, freed the girl I was dating at the time from working in the assisted living, all before the age of 30 years old. We traveled all over the world, met so many people, had so many different foods, and the list goes on. Most importantly, we helped people think for themselves, instead of systematically.
It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows though, I had thousands of NOs within my first 40 days and nights of going into business, but I didn’t stop. I acquired a certain level of excitement for NOs. I welcomed them. I became numb to them. My residual income exceeded my expectations.
As far as launching, I simply networked with people. I’m an introvert. I don’t mind not saying a word, but networking is key. I built and nurtured relationships with people who have a winning mindset similar to my own, if not, greater! I wanted to WIN . PERIOD! So, I got around winners.
It takes money to make money , so I invested in myself. This is a known concept, but you’d be amazed how naive people have become. I reinvested profits back into my current business or other businesses. I launched my graphic and web development business where I could officially work from home. I started investing in my publications for my books and doing more standup for exposure with my poetry. I attended events at night clubs to get into peoples ears.
Modeling was trial and error, I tried it and it worked out. I always loved fashion. Dressing to impress has always been a frame of mind state for me. I simply incorporated networking and it took off. I loved on people and in return the love came back. I treated people how I wanted to be treated.
All in all, the idea phase has always been simple, I launched successfully, it’s help form successful launchers. I got around people who were winning and mimicked them. The fact that Network Marketing taught me how to start a business, launch, scale, monetize my talents, speak to people, personal development, present proposals, schedule out my life and business, etc., afterwards, started and launching other businesses became second nature.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Being homeless, sleeping in my car and going to jail for a short period of time, were definitely points in my journey where I had to exercise mind over reality. The reality was clear, I was in an embarrassing situation.
However, I had to dress the way I wanted to be addressed, based off my skill and value, rather than my current standing in life. Outside of those two, at 16 years old, I was injured in a football game, where I hyperextended my knee. What I thought to be a simple injury, turned out around a flatlined me 3 times.
A bruised bone, when abandoned, and untreated, turned into clots which traveled to my upper region. My heart failed, both lungs collapsed, and a few other organs stopped working properly. All this put me in the hospital for 3.5 months, which resulted in 12 surgeries on my right knee.
My athletic career in shambles. What took me years to build and develop, all gone within a matter of seconds. Poof! I was deemed a liability to the entire city and school system. I had to take matters into my own hands, I trained and did therapy on myself. I spoke of not playing ball anymore, but the inner me, wouldn’t allow the enemy to consume me.
I wanted more than I grew up with, which was nothing. To be alone for so long, built a sense of resilience to life happening, within me. I was tired of life happening to me, and I started being a happening to life. I decided to take center stage in my own life.
At that point, I chose to be a Victor and NOT a victim to circumstances unknown.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I would’ve known the importance of proper mentorship and how to choose appropriately based on where I wanted to head and who was already where I wanted to be.
I would’ve chosen earlier and been more intentional in choosing. However, come to think about it, we are always choosing our mentors growing up. It’s why we pay attention to different people of power or status, whom are close range to us.
I also wish I would’ve sought out credit info and investing techniques, courses, classes, information. I also wish that I would’ve been taught at an early age that happiness does revolve around what others may think, say, or do to you, or about you. Neither does money provide a lot of happiness, and it comes with a hell of a responsibility.
Finally, and most important, I would’ve sought God more in every aspect of life. Rather than spending more time seeking money and attention. Even though attention was never important, I can’t say I have never placed it at the forefront of importance at least once in my journey.
