Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jeremy Hemsley, Egypt Bailey N/A. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jeremy Hemsley, Egypt Bailey, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
Egypt Bailey – Firstly, I pray that my legacy is one that is continued to be revealed, guided, and lead the right way by God. I hope my legacy will be showing that it’s ok to do things that are far away from the norm and very much possible. My legacy will be leading with honesty, showing up for myself each day, and having the eyes to see and ears to listen when it comes to being here to serve the way I’m supposed to.
Jeremy Hemsley – My legacy as an individual, i hope to be remembered as a man who accomplished great things . Such as taking care of and providing for my family, inspiring the people i came across during my life time. I hope to leave the world a little better than it was when i cam in it. I hope my legacy will be creating beautiful art, beautiful children, and living fulfilled life being at peace with the decisions i’ve made. My legacy will be through the people and the lives i affected. That’s how your name lives on, through what you do through the people.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
We have known each other for more than half of our lives, starting at as neighbors when we were children. We got into this industry together, the space of designing, fashion, and just overall being creatives that we are proud of. It started out as a conversation about our individual creative talents. That conversation turned into the idea of starting a clothing brand together . We provide clothing goods such as t-shirts, jackets, etc. But with that being said, we are much more than just a clothing brand and we branch outside of just tees, hats, and sweaters. We want to carve out our own lane in the fashion world so we look to make everything we can think of, wether that be blankets or letterman jackets, even down to filming our own skits and ideas. Our goal is to bring our creativity into the space of fashion, bridging the gap between making screen printed tees and making actual cut & sew garments. We are both most proud of stepping outside of our comfort zones and pushing past any limitations we ourselves or any one else may have placed on us. We are also proud of our ability to learn each day about our crafts and apply those things to our everyday. We hope that people take away from our brand that we are a couple creating together both pulling from our experiences together and individually to create something beautiful for all those we reach.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Jeremy Hemsley – I’d like to think that our whole story as a brand is something that represents resiliency. We are two people who started with nothing but an idea, we had no prior knowledge on this craft, we had no one around us who could help us or point us in any direction. For us to want it bad enough by figuring out things on our own is an example of resilience. We had to deal with people telling us no, had to ask plenty of questions, had to deal with little to no support at the beginning of this. We’ve had to make people believe in us and the art that we’re hoping to give to the world by believing in ourselves and pushing past any and all negative emotions and feelings. Although March this year would officially make it a a year since we’ve started our business, we at Divine Dreamers are continuing to build our fan base, our ideas are getting bigger and better and we’ve learned so much throughout our first years of business about ourselves and our art. It’s taken nothing but resilience to get to this point.
Egypt Bailey – Before becoming a creator of a brand, I have had a few years prior of knowledge with working in photoshop, illustrator, etc., which pertained to me earning my degree. That knowledge of these programs had soon become knowledge that wasn’t as sharp as it once was leaving me to relearn in a setting with no real structure but the one I now created for myself. It was frustrating at first because I know the potential I had then that was much more centered around me having the discipline that I desperately needed in the start of becoming a brand owner. Beginning again to push east those limitations and having to teach myself on my own terms is something that has made me resilient.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Egypt Bailey – I would say one of the things that has helped build our reputation within our market is letting it be known that we are two people in a relationship trying to build something together. Jeremy and I have had conversations of not really seeing inspirational individuals existing in and around love since John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Our transparency in showcasing our individual style and taste as well as combining the two is just something that hasn’t happened before because we are each one of one. Our transparency is huge and so is our authenticity, I feel people gravitate to all of those things.
Jeremy Hemsley – The authenticity of our foundation is something that helped build our reputation within this space. We believe people are able to relate to us because we’ve shown the process. How we started from nothing and turned it into something, living in the generation that we do now where instant gratification is something we all seek. We believe that it’s been refreshing for our supporters to see “the grind”. The feeling of not knowing how to make the idea that you have in your head come to life, the feeling of fear and doubt. It can get ugly and it can get scary chasing a dream and our brand is a reflection of that.
