We recently connected with Jeremy Flowers and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeremy, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I believe in three things you need to be Relentless to follow your dreams/goals despite any obstacles that may come your way. I also believe that you cannot complete anything on your own so having a Network / Collaboration with other people can assist with the overall goal of your company and completing projects for your clients. The last step would be Commitment levels. I feel that your commitment level will show when the risk that you need to take to become successful present themselves.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Jeremy Flowers aka JayDotKom is a Content Creator on YouTube, who is also a photographer, videographer, and drone pilot. With over 20 years of experience in the Audio/Visual Production Industry, he has worked with a diverse range of clients and projects. At JayDotkom, we believe in producing high-quality digital media content that tells a story and engages viewers. We work closely with our clients to understand their vision and bring it to life through our expertise in content creation and production.
How did you get into your industry?
I was born into this industry following in the footsteps of my father, the late Donald Flowers, becoming one of the youngest members of the company at the age of 16. I have now spent over 20 years and am considered one of the youngest African-American Executive Engineers.
What sets you apart from others?
My ability to tell a story in a captivating way utilizing my attention to detail skills and willingness to push the bar of creativity.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Taking advantage of opportunities, consistency, and social media have been three of my most effective strategies for growing my clientele. I have been able to step into the field of real estate which I am currently expanding and doing celebrity pop-up events such as Kevin Heart who was advertising his liquor brand. The photo that was taken opens the door to a well-respected comedian Leon Rodgers and many more.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
Under my company JayDotKom I am currently offering prints along with complete photo albums and/or frames of my photography work through my website Jay.Baby. This has allowed my clients the option to purchase their photos digitally or printed, which has been said to be a huge deal by my clients. The ability to provide a full-service website from scheduling a photo shoot to purchasing prints can be a bit much to maintain at times, but it’s well worth the direct-to-consumer relationship.
Pros: Direct client services, Control of products and pricing, In the photography business, having a place to showcase your work is a must.
Cons: What most don’t tell you, you’re responsible for driving traffic to your website. Big box platforms have a customer base already. You might not. Website upkeep is highly overlooked. Getting photos posted for print is a never-ending process.
