We recently connected with Jeremy Bryan and have shared our conversation below.
Jeremy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I’ve learned how to create music through repetition and variations for each song. One track may feature bass and drums while another features more soundtrack instruments. This method has worked for me throughout the years because 1), it gives me infinite inspiration to make music and 2), it’s just fun to do. Just like the universe is practically infinite with no one particularly thing being the exact same, so too I want my music to be the same.
Knowing what I know now, to speed up my learning process when I first started, I would have taken music courses in college. I started off in I.T. and switched over to Business Administration with music as a side hustle. Courses on mixing, mastering, and writing songs would have greatly helped out with my music. And in fact, I had an opportunity in 2010 to travel to Full Sail University in Florida for music courses but… the foolishness of youth. I had a girlfriend at the time and I didn’t want to leave her behind.
The skills I found to be most essential were commitment and persistence. I know I’ve said this before but these two skills can apply to anything. You don’t have to be the best, most popular, or most talented. But if you commit and persist to a project, you can accomplish anything.
The only obstacle that withheld me from learning more was the fact, I didn’t take music seriously. 2005-2008, music was just a hobby. At that time, that’s all I could see. But hey, with time, everything worked ok.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hey, I’m Jeremy A. Bryan from Cincinnati, OH. Musically, I’m known as Kamileon. Growing up I’ve participated in several sports such as basketball, football, baseball, and martial arts. I’ve studied Shuri-Ryu under Grandmaster Fairbanks and I’ve had the opportunity to play basketball in Brisbane & Sydney, AU and was briefly coached by a former Harlem Globetrotter. I played a couple of b-ball games against former NBA players OJ Mayo, Bill Walker, and I was personally trained by an international b-ball player.
Music wise, I’ve been blessed to work with my friend and Billboard charting artist, Meru Matu. I made a song for a music video of hers featuring the music video director of Keri Hilson x Kanye West x Neyo’s grammy hit song, “Knock You Down”. My brother from another mother, DeJuan Boyd from Rabbitt Productions, he provided opportunities for me to make music for Rocnation, LL Cool J, and a few other major artists.
I’ve also collaborated with several music colleagues and friends. #1 Billboard charting band, Neighborhood Watch (Homiletix and Multimilcuzimultitask), #1 Billboard charting artist Katie Bates and Tejai Moore, #2 Billboard charting classical band, Tre Principesse, Emmy Award winner Suzanne Edwards and Juno Award winner Moka Only. I’ve collaborated with national and international artists such as Lea Reis, Yayvo, Alessia D’Andrea, Dagobert Howe (of Audiostellar), and more.
In 2005, I first started music production when a high school friend of mine suggested I start making my own music. At the time, I was mixing songs I heard on the radio at a local dj store. So I gave music production a shot, and I haven’t stopped making music since.
With my music, I offer high quality sounds in energetic, dramatic, soundtrack, and sports music. If you have a problem finding epic trailers, hip hop or sports music, contact my publisher, Music of the Sea to license my music today! I have over 800 songs released and I can pretty much craft songs to specific needs. Most of my music is designed to get people dancing and grooving. Once you hear a few tracks, it’ll be near impossible to sit still. You’re just going to have to get up, snap your fingers, clap your hands, tap your feet, turn up the bass, nod your head, wave your hands in the air and get down to the music.
I’m also a Recruiter and I submit job seeker’s resumes for Fortune 500-1,000 companies. If you’re seeking a new position, reach out and contact me.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
It’s quite simple. Legacy. Everything I do in music and business is for legacy. The goals I set everyday is to help leave a positive legacy for my family, friends, and others.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is creating music that people like. If someone buys my music or makes a TikTok/YouTube Short dance of my songs, hey, I’ve done my job. Knowing my music made others feel good is what makes me happy.
