We recently connected with Jeremy Beckelhimer and have shared our conversation below.
Jeremy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
We had a pop up in Tennessee about 5 years ago and I had already been thinking of how I could stand out. We got asked to swing by the studio if a gentleman we meet at the pop up afterwards, so we went in my van, loaded to the gills with vintage clothing and goods. They wanted to shop more, so I popped the trunk and started hanging clothes all over the back had the side doors open with clothes hanging off the doors….I stepped back, and took some pictures of them shopping and it hit me, I have to create a mobile shopping option that will bring a dope experience. So that was the goal from there on our! I started BV mobile 1 with a shuttle bus I bought and transformed into my store on wheels. I used that bud for 1 year and a half then ran into mechanical issues beyond repair. So I had to wait alone year to find a solid replacement and brainstorm how to get BV MOBILE back up and running. So here we are in 2023 with the mobile trailer ready to hit the ground rolling and bringing BV MOBILE back to the people!
Jeremy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started reselling video. Around 2013 part time online to just kinda be able to recoups looney I was spending as a collector. As I was doing that I just kept finding cool retro and vintage pieces. Ran into an old friend and found out he was selling clothes he was thrifting. I was like I’m doing the same thing with video games. So I started digging for clothes too. Long story short it escalated quickly into vintage and retro goods of all kinds. Now I mail focus on toys, video games, hats, tees and jackets. Enjoying every day growing, creating and recreating the past into an amazing future!!!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I’d say my consistency, determination and grind. They all have to match each other. Be yourself and hustle hard!!! Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do anything!
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Face to face interaction at pop ups and social media!
