We recently connected with Jeremy Anderson and have shared our conversation below.
Jeremy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?
At some point I had a online bakery business by the name of King’s Royal Recipes. While the business was great while it lasted, there was often times where shipping became an issue for me. No matter how much bubble wrap and warning labels I used, it seemed as if the shipping companies had it out for me. Now of course, they didn’t but it sure did feel that way! My items were very delicate but they were also protected so that my customers would be satisfied when they received their product. I had to get very creative when it came to packaging, shipping containers and also choosing which company to use. It took me some times but I definitely found out what my best options were and what I needed to do when these type of problems arrived. I also made sure my profit margin covered the extra expenses it took to protect my products and reimburse consumers if anything bad was to happen.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
At the moment, I am starting to get back into creative direction more towards the music industry while also getting back into song writing. I have many different talents and interest but I try to make sure I give myself the time and opportunity to explore each one of them to see what I enjoy the most. As a teenager, I always liked to sing, write music and just be creative when it came to anything pertaining to music. As I have grown older, I have also been interested in the creative side of how artist and their projects come together.
My first project that I officially directed was “The Last Sunflower” by Vicious Vision, I knew that this was a passion of mine because the idea behind the whole project came so naturally to me, After the project was finished, I was so proud of myself, and also the amazing artist “Vicious Vision ;& producer “B2x or Disary.” Working with other creatives to create an amazing project is something I will always love to do. I am currently thinking about creating something for myself and exploring my talents as far as music.
I believe that I will truly be able to critique myself in every way shape and form when I see how it is being the artist and the creative as well. I like to push myself into situations that will teach me while also motivating me to gain wisdom. My main goal is to just create projects that are meaningful whether its with someone who is mainstream or underground. The fact that it is not about the money to me just proves that this is something I am very passionate about. I love what I do and I cannot wait to gain more experience in this field.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Always be yourself. Yes, I know this may seem very cliche but I believe we spend too much time trying to create a narrative just to gain attention from others. Platforms such as TikTok will prove to you that you are not as crazy or weird as you think, trust me! There is an audience out there for everyone, just create and present it to the world. The followers don’t matter when you are first starting, its all about just getting it done. You will never be perfect at what you do but you will also never get better if you don’t just start. You might not have the followers, the budget or the confidence but you will still have to get up and get it done. The perfect time is not coming nor is the person that you’re waiting to come and do it for you.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Believe it or not, social media has played a huge role in my life experience. Your perception of social media all depends on you, Yes, it can be crazy but I decided to use it as a learning tool. I have gained many skills and lessons from creators such as TS Madison, Tabitha Brown, Mo’nique, K. Michelle, Imani Vanzap, Street Poet, & Mama Tot. When you watch someone go through similar or certain situations and still prevail, you should pay attention and listen to them so that you can learn. At some point, they were discouraged or had nothing but they still prevailed. Social media is an amazing tool but you just have to use it in the way that you want to instead of the way you choose to. Do not be like the general public, be yourself. Create listen, learn and grow so that you can someday teach others what you have learned.
