We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jeremie Etienne. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jeremie below.
Hi Jeremie, thanks for joining us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
A defining moment in my career was last 2021. I just left my job as a Health Coach and went back to school full-time to finish my degree in Dietetics and Nutrition while still managing my business as a Wellness Coach. The goal was to graduate in 3 semesters and hopefully get into a Dietetic internship. After a couple months in school I was blessed with an opportunity that would lead my business to switch gears. I got invited to be apart of a small business boot camp with Bank of America and out of 40 business I was one of the finalist at the boot camp. With the exposure, networking, coaching, mentor, and momentum from the boot camp I was able take my business to the next level. My company went from serving 10 people to almost 70 people in a year’s time and I have transition from community wellness to now community & corporate wellness. And yes I did get my degree. No internship for now I will continue to grow my business for the time being.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a young Haitian American entrepreneur who is in love with God and wellness. I am a husband and father of 4 beautiful children. Growing up all I knew was playing sports would allow you to can make it life I was not the best student so I could not see me as the person that I am today. After realizing that my football dreams would not happen. I thought I could probably be a Dietitian and a personal trainer on the side. Problem was I love nutrition and exercise but I did not love the title and role being a Dietitian and Personal Trainer. But after some careful thinking of what I wanted to do in life I realized in 2018 I wanted to be a Wellness Coach and career wise that was the best decision I ever made in my life. Now I am the proud owner of InSeason LLC, we provide meal planning, exercise planning, and personal development to entrepreneurs and working professionals. We are the solution to wellness. We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Being a entrepreneur is not easy some days you are going to wake up and want to quit. But like P. Diddy says “can’t stop, won’t stop” And that’s the energy you need to have everyday. Yeah is may take forever and a day to finish a project, write a book, or complete a task, it does not matter as long as it gets done. Their is no such thing as an overnight success. Having the opportunity to be on this article did not happen overnight. There are many nights I did not sleep. There are some tasks that took minutes to do and there are some that took years but they got done. When I won the business boot camp I was still in school full-time and still managing a business but I did it away and I won. You have to be resilient in this world if you want to make in life.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One lesson I had unlearn is that I am poor. I grew up with a poverty mind set and the truth was I become like this because I was ignorant. I did not know or understood the information that was before me and the importance of knowledge and wisdom. When they say knowledge is power it’s true. But the that’s just half of the battle because we also have to apply the knowledge we know as well. And that takes discipline, patience, support, mentorship, and drive. If I am a millionaire tomorrow it will be because of God and these principles.
