We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jeremiah Williams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jeremiah below.
Jeremiah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
The moment I knew I wanted to pursue a creative path professionally was after being in a middle school play. It was small, and most will see it as corny, but it was something real and special for me. Before this I had always dreamed of going to the NFL because of my genuine love for American football. But I never knew there was something missing with football until I acted for the first time. Football was just missing that “it” factor that acting wasn’t missing. Anyways, acting became a lifestyle. It felt like putting on new glasses for the first time. Or breathing through your nose once it wasn’t congested anymore. It was truly refreshing.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As mentioned earlier, I’m just a guy who loves football. I also love other things such as video games or spending time with friends new or old, or with family. I came from a place where originally I wasn’t accepted and I was bullied hard for it. That’s probably why I am an accepting person. I don’t know. Every situation I’m in I always try to look at it from everyone’s angle and find the most positive way I can handle it. Anyways enough of me chatting about myself. Let’s talk about the business. I got into the industry not to long after my middle school play. My mom sat down and had a talk with me about acting and how serious I was about it. I told her how this is my passion and true calling in life so we found representation and never looked back. I am now working hard everyday to succeed in this industry and become one of the best.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
A situation that truly shows my resilience actually happened about 2 years ago. I went on the biggest callback of my career at the time and had completely aced the competition and was brought back for a producer session. The night before, I was pumped. I was running around, practicing lines, thanking god and more. When the next afternoon came and I had to do the producer session, my heart was racing. I was nervous and when they had brought me in, I choked up. I asked to restart, but I already knew it was over. I went back to my air-bnb heartbroken at the opportunity that I had just let slip through my fingers. In the moment, I was hurt and mad at the world. But I use that moment as motivation to never give up, even when it seems like the world is working against me.
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
The mission that is driving my journey currently is to succeed for my past self. When I was younger I always promised myself that I would achieve massive success and change the world including the culture and that’s exactly what I plan on doing. One day after building a major name for myself in the industry, I wanna tell my story. Growing up I was always outspoken in dire situations and it would be the ultimate gift for me to finally be able to tell my side of the story. My biggest goal in this journey would definitely be winning an Oscar. I don’t really have to explain this but in football terms, it’s just like winning the Lombardi trophy.
