We were lucky to catch up with Jeremiah Pearson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jeremiah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Growing up I always loved music … I had a fascination with Martins life on his TV show, and Jamie Foxx TV show. I’d listen to RnB music growing up and finding samples and going back to the original. Then I graduated high school went to ETSU and that’s when i started my creative Journey… from creating talent shows hosted by Latto and one by Desi Banks, to opening up comedy shows for the 85 south show. That’s when I knew I loved entertainment, so i eventually DJ’d my first party and have not looked back ever since.

Jeremiah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
How I got into the business was through different radio internships.. I always wanted to be a big radio DJ. But covid happened, and I felt like I was falling behind after i graduated.
So i decided to use some of my stimulus money to buy a DJ board… it took a whole 2 years before I did my first party.
That’s when i learned I had to have a big catalog of my music in my library. And learning what people like and dislike about certain DJs and going to support and listen to other DJs is how you get better.
What I am most proud of is being able to stay consistent and staying busy. A lot of people cannot say they are consistently working in something they love to do. So I Thank God every day and before every set to be able to get to do what I love and another opportunity to show others what I love.
I want clients, to know that I prepare off what they gave me and do my best like it’s the last set I’ll ever DJ.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I think a lot of people believe to make it as an artist, a creative or whatever is to branch out and go other places… but I’ve learned 2 things over the years. 1 you have to find a way to get into the conversations of your craft, Good and Bad conversations promotes growth and always pushes you to be better. 2 you will grow faster working with people who are climbing to the top with you rather than wanting to try and always work with people who are established. Every successful person who has made it has the same people who grew and worked and climb with them, not pulled everyone up once they got to the top , they pushed each other.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Yes the Bible. It is a book of stories with many imperfect people and lessons that we can take and use to help us grow.
