We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jeremiah Paige a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremiah, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

This tape I am about to drop “PA1GE 2” is super meaningful to me. This is the sequel to my first ever project “PA1GE” I dropped on Soundcloud about 4 years ago. That tape helped me get really major gigs opening for big headliners and club openings while studying aboard. I didn’t expect so many great things to come from the tape being that it was only my first year going into my second with making music. I expect this tape to have an even larger impact on the world and to those that come across my music. Some of the tracks on the tape I have been working on for 2-3 years, some I’ve been working on for 4 years. This tape is very introspective and reflective, gives my listeners into my life’s dealings and perspective.

Jeremiah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am a recording artist that produces, models, and creates content. I started creating music from the boredom I felt while being in school. A bet with my friends about if I could make a good song became an obsession with creative expression and writing tracks. I started writing, recording, and producing all at the same time. I soon realized that music is an expensive industry and decided to invest in myself and started building a home recording studio.

To further invest into myself I started doing mobile studio work, mixing for local artist. I wanted the best for my music and took a few steps back from engineering and focused more on recoding and producing tracks. As my artistry improved and my style as an artist expanded, I started working with producers who’s quality of work and style were a good fit for the talent I was able to offer to a track. My listeners always get the truth and my perspective on various topics that offer a bit of advice and insight on life and its obstacles. “PA1GE 2” offers listeners genre bending melodies and flows that take them through many creative stylesI am comfortable expressing myself with, gives them taste of what I am capable off as an artist.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is when your creations greatly impact and have real-time influence over others. I have people tell me to my face that songs I may not have had the biggest connection with or held high regards to have literally saved their lives and helped them in some of the darkest moments of their lives. Making music and expressing myself is much bigger than me.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My goal as a creative is express myself authentically and create space where I and others feel free to be themselves. There are a lot of stigmas and ideas about what it means to be black male and I want to dismantle and destroy that idea with how I carry myself and the type of music that I make.
