We were lucky to catch up with Jeremiah Jenner recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jeremiah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Jeremiah was given the gift of music and photography from his artists parents when he was five years old. They bought him his very first drum set and camera for Christmas.
He has stayed true to his calling and passion for over fifty years both as a professional musician and photographer. Jeremiah enjoys sharing his gifts and joy with others as a music and photography educator.

Jeremiah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Jeremiah’s photography and music students appreciate his likeable and engaging character, teaching style and his natural calling as a professional educator.
He has been awarded several high profile grants from the Creative Aging Foundation, Artists With Austism, Keeping the Blues Alive and Broward County Cultural Division to establish educational programs.
The most important goal as a professional educator is to impart his passion and knowledge of photography and music to others; their success in the class is the key t
o his educational goals.
Jeremiah engages with the community at large who are from diversified socio-economic backgrounds and have expressed a desire to learn about the creative and professional aspects of their chosen artistic discipline.
Their new found creative and business skills help to create and add a diversified background to the arts community.
The end result is for Jeremiah’s students to become professionals in their chosen fields of photography and / or music.
Jeremiah Jenner’s sleek and minimalistic limited editions have endeared the media as well as the serious art collector. National collectors of his photographs include Starbucks, PBS and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
Press accolades include awarded First Place for the September photo contest in Fort Lauderdale Magazine as well as published photographer and front cover feature of
Palm Beach Design and Architectural Review Magazine.
“Jeremiah is open with his knowledge about photography, is genuine and very supportive of his students – and always has a smile.” – S. Mitzner
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Jeremiah enjoys and encourages each of his students to become the best they can in their chosen artistic career field. He offers continuing support and advice after they graduate the classes. Many of his student have obtained success establishing their own successful photography businesses, been published in magazines and others have been hired by Sports Illustrated, HGTV, CNN and Apple.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Jeremiah has been fortunate enough to live on the Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts in downtown Fort Lauderdale for the past twelve years.
The Artist lofts were created and built by ArtSpace – a non profit organization who helps artists with affordable live / work spaces to focus on their creative process and collaborate on exhibitions in the main 1310 Gallery.
The three story open air exhibition space is part of Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts which will be hosting openings as well as open artists studios where the public can see their current work and projects.
Jeremiah currently teaches photography and drum lessons both privately as well as group photography classes through Broward County Community Schools.
