Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jeremiah Jaroch. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jeremiah , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
Yes! I often try to go the extra mile and provide above and beyond customer service and experience for the people who choose to collect work from me. I always send my clients a preliminary sketch the night before their appointment. There are a few reasons that I do this, the first being that, it reduces my stress level going into the next day. I know what I’m doing and my client knows what they are getting. Sending the sketch also gives my clients the opportunity to give me feedback and if any changes need to be made I have more than enough time to do so. I spent a lot of time in art classes and receiving critiques is important to me and furthers my growth as an artist. If there are any changes my clients send my way it helps me think outside of my normal box and challenges my process in a positive way. I want my clients to have the best experience when working with me and I think this helps contribute to an exemplary interaction.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve always been interested in art personally and has always been a constant pursuit in my life. From a very young age I was always drawing and down the road I continued that education at the University of Michigan. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Fine Art concentrating in illustration. From there it was a bit of a bumpy road, but eventually I secured an apprenticeship in tattooing. As the door opened for me, my journey has taught me so much, pushed me to consistently improve, and has presented me with endless opportunities. For me, with tattooing always want to make sure myself and my client is as highly satisfied as possible and that we both really love that the tattoo at the end of the process. I always tell my clients he more invested we both are in the project the more likely we both are to produce and awesome piece together. It’a hard to say what I am most proud overall, but if I had to choose one thing, it’s that so many people trust me and want my work. I’m reminded every time I tattoo that it wouldn’t be possible with out those people in life.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I think it’s two things. The first being to continuously pursue growth as an artist. It can be challenging to keep that energy going, but if I compare the work I was making in college years ago to what I’m making now there’s no comparison and there have been miles and miles of growth. And the other part for me is to help others grow with their own art journey, whether it is just by inspiring other artists or being more hands on.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I honestly think that how I interact with my client is a main contributor. I love meeting and talking to new people, as a tattooer I work with people from very diverse facets of life. I am a very curious person and so often during tattooing, I’m talking to my client for a majority of the time. Once people find out I’m a pretty friendly person the conversation flows pretty naturally. I’ve been told that working with me I create a comfortable, safe space and that is incredibly important to me. Additionally, I would also have to say that people tend to pick out specific elements of my artwork so I think that also contributes some level of diversity to the experience. There are a lot of tattooers and art makers out there and I often think about how I can differentiate myself and work from others, but also maintain a level of consistency throughout my entire body of work.
