We were lucky to catch up with Jeremiah Flores recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jeremiah, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Thank you for having me! Man I really wish it were that simple. In my career I have met many established people who are experts in their fields and industries. All of which have come across their passions in different ways. For some, they endured the hardships and rigor that was shown before them. Their dedication to their goals and their hard work pushed them through the trying times into where they stand today. Others wanted to be something very different from what they are, but they found something along the way that enlightened their passions. In viewing the two, I found that both lived their lives with doubts and unsurety of the road ahead. But it was continuing through them that brought them to where they needed to be. Everyone has their own vision for what it means to be successful. Finding and manifesting that vision takes going through the day to day with a positive outlook. The human ability to persevere, especially through hardships is what I believe it takes to be successful. This is why I believe we all have the capability of being successful.
Jeremiah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
It is a pleasure to speak with you today and have this opportunity to share my story with CanvasRebel Magazine. My name is Jeremiah Flores, I am 24 years old and I am the Executive Administrator and Management Analyst for CM3 Construction Group. My commitment, determination and hardwork has allowed me to accomplish goals that I believed were once out of my reach. I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting by twenty-two years old. By twenty-three I began investing in my long term goals by purchasing a home. By twenty-four I completed my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Strategic Management. My career goal for turning twenty-five is to start a business that gives back to the community while working alongside CM3 Construction Group. CM3 Construction Group is a general contracting company that specializes in ground-up, interior finish, remodel, design-build and commercial & residential roofing projects. While working alongside CEO Cody Miller we have completed projects for the Air Force, various school districts, hospitals, shopping centers, and even your everyday neighbor. I began working for CM3 Construction Group in highschool going door to door handing out marketing materials while working part time at a local Subway. Although I have always had ambition, I believe that there are a few moments in your life that truly define who you are as a person. One of these moments that would affect my path was my first job at KFC. I was a fifteen year old teenager eager to begin earning my own money in the real world. KFC was the only establishment in my area that would hire at my age. It was my first day on the job and I was doing well enough that the manager asked if she could step out for a material run. While she was out two men came in and ordered normally. As they gave me the cash the register opened. One of the men then pulled a gun out and put it against my chest. He demanded that I give him all of the money in the register. As he spoke it felt as if the world had slowed down for me to be able to react. I noticed there was a mother, father, and baby dining at a table behind the gunman. With this in mind I complied with the gunman and they darted out with only forty-six dollars. The hysterical cries of the mother witnessing the incident brought me back from my trance-like state. I jumped over the counter to try to calm the mother down. I remember telling the mother my name was Jeremiah like in the bible and that I was there for a reason. Days would pass where I would think of the two gunmen who knew nothing of me and valued my life at only forty-six dollars. And then I’d remember the family that I comforted who valued my actions and presence beyond anything. Since then I have wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of those around me. It was not enough that I succeeded in my own endeavors. I wanted to have a positive impact on the people around me. As I began my undergrad studies at UNT Dallas I began volunteering for the American Legion, campus events at UNT Dallas, local elementary schools and college nights at neighboring highschools. Anything that I believed would have a positive impact for the people in our community. Something I am most proud of is the way we have been able to apply this same principle at CM3 Construction Group. In September of 2022 Hurricane Ian struck Central Florida causing $60 billion in damages, two months later Hurricane Nichole landed in Florida adding another $500 million in destruction. Residents of Central and South West Florida were given loss after loss; their homes destroyed, family animals lost, and days without food or power. With minimal hours of preparation, CM3 Construction Group took action and partnered with One90 Smoked Meats in Dallas to bring over 1000 pounds of meat, food, and water to local churches in SouthWest Florida. Our labor team helped seal the exterior envelopes of homes while we fed the community. I will never forget the signs that were posted on the palm trees that read “Thank you SWFL Heros!”
I would want those reading to know CM3 Construction Group as a company of regular people who stand behind their service with vision, quality, safety, and pride.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe that CM3 Construction Group has been able to build our reputation in the market due to our honesty, integrity, and structure. We take it upon ourselves to help the clients understand the construction process and where the ball is at all times. This ensures accountability on both our part and the parties involved. Working with different counties, cities, jurisdictions, states, policies and ordinances takes strong organizational skills. Coordinating with the city, crew, and client is a task that we take pride in. Our structure and business ethic have been positively noticed by not only our clients but the inspectors that review our work. Our goal is to make your vision a reality and orchestrate the moving parts in a stress free and coherent manner. Preparation and foreshadowing allows CM3 to be there and ready every step of the way from budgeting, scheduling, and performing.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
