Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jerainnie Concepcion. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jerainnie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
Honestly, I don’t wonder what it would be like to have a regular job again because I’ve lived it. I remember exactly what it felt like, and I have zero desire to go back.
My last “regular” job was in a call center. The kind of place where you wear a headset for eight hours straight, your lunch is timed to the minute, and you’re judged on how fast you can solve someone else’s problem over and over again. I can still hear the constant ringing, the scripted greetings, the frustrated voices on the other end of the line. The repetition.
I used to stare at the clock, counting down the hours, not because I was lazy, but because the work drained me. There was no room for creativity or growth just a rigid routine and a paycheck.
Now, running my own business, the days are long and the responsibilities are hugenbut I wake up energized. I get to solve problems I choose, work with people I respect, and build something meaningful. I don’t have to ask permission to try something new or take time off. Every win feels earned, and every challenge pushes me to grow.
So no, I don’t daydream about going back to a regular job. I know what’s back there. And what I have now, even on the hard days, is worth so much more.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi all! My name is Jerainnie Concepcion, and I’m a licensed esthetician in the sunny state of Florida. I specialize in eyebrow waxing & shaping, Brazilian waxing, and eyelash extensions. I also offer full body waxing and relaxing, rejuvenating facials. Never in a million years did I imagine myself becoming a business owner, especially in the beauty industry, but here I am, and I couldn’t be more proud.
I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a major in Health Sciences and a minor in Psychology. My path initially pointed toward medicine. I worked as a scribe in Emergency, Pediatrics, Infectious Disease, and Urology. I also volunteered at a local children’s hospital as both a Child Life Specialist and a Mother-Baby Unit volunteer. For the longest time, I envisioned myself becoming a doctor.
But everything shifted after I had my daughter (Cheers to three now). Motherhood gave me the clarity to pause and ask, “Is this really what I want?” I realized that continuing down the path to med school didn’t feel aligned with the life I wanted to build for myself and my daughter.
One day, during a casual chat with my esthetician (shoutout to her!), she suggested I look into esthetics school. At first, I hesitated, it felt like a total curveball. But deep down, I’ve always been a beauty girl through and through. So I took a leap of faith, enrolled in esthetics school, and never looked back. That decision changed everything.
Today, I get to blend my love for beauty with my passion for people. I’m a girl’s girl at heart, and nothing fulfills me more than being a safe space for my clients, someone they can vent to, laugh with, and trust. Helping someone feel more confident in their own skin? That’s a gift I never take for granted.
What sets me apart most is my attention to detail. I hyper-focus on the small things, those often-overlooked touches that elevate a service from good to unforgettable. As someone who is also a consumer in the beauty world, I always treat my clients the way I’d want to be treated, with care, intention, and respect.
This business has ignited a fire in me I didn’t know I had. I genuinely love what I do, and I would do it for free if I could. Being a part of someone’s self-care journey is an honor, and I’m just getting started.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe I’ve built my reputation by doing more than just telling people what I can do, I’ve shown them. From the very beginning, I made it a priority to let my work speak for itself.
I started this journey with zero clients. No referrals, no waitlist, just me, my tools, and a whole lot of faith in myself. But I was confident in the services I offered, and I truly believed in the experience I could provide. I think that confidence naturally came through in how I carried myself, how I treated my clients, and the quality of every single appointment.
I showed up consistently, online, in-person, and behind the scenes. I stayed true to my style, poured my heart into my work, and made sure each client left feeling not only taken care of, but seen and valued. That’s what people remember. That’s what gets talked about.
Word of mouth started growing because my results matched my energy—and that’s how my reputation began to take root and flourish.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by simply showing up as myself. After hearing so many mentors and fellow business owners preach about the importance of showing your face and staying active online, I finally decided to lean in. And I’m so glad I did.
From the start, I knew I couldn’t fake it. I wasn’t going to try to sound like someone else or follow a script that didn’t feel like me. So I chose to lead with authenticity. I let people see who I really am, my personality, my passion, my process. And I stayed consistent with it.
I tell people I’m the best esthetician in the area, and I say it with confidence because I believe it. And when you believe it, people start to believe it too. It doesn’t come off as cocky, it comes off as certain. That certainty resonates.
I also like to keep my content fresh and dynamic. I mix it up with behind-the-scenes clips, transformations, educational tips, client reactions, and just real-life moments. People seem to gravitate toward that balance of expertise and realness. It makes me feel like I’m not just building a business, I’m building a community.
My advice? Be your authentic self. Don’t wait until you feel “ready” or “perfect.” Just start. Show your face. Speak from your heart. Talk like you would to your favorite client. Be consistent, be confident, and remember: people connect with people more than they connect with perfectly curated content.
