We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jenya Felder a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jenya, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Have you ever had an amazing boss? What did you learn from them? Maybe you can share a story that illustrates the kind of boss they were or maybe you can share your thoughts on what you think made them an awesome person to work for?
I graduated from Texas Christian University with a double manager in marketing and entrepreneur management. During college, I had a great internship at Merrill Lynch, but my first job after college was at Crozier and Henderson. They produce the HotOnHomes television show for the residential real estate market. I had the honor of being an employee of the fabulous Leslie Crozier. She was an amazing influence on me and taught me the finesse of sales and how to close a deal. I don’t think she knows this, but she holds a special place in my heart and was a great influence & inspiration.

Meet Jenya Renée, a devoted wife and proud mother of two wonderful daughters who are the namesake of her beautiful collections.
Inspired by fellow Fort Worth women entrepreneurs, Jenya embarked on her own creative journey to create something truly special. She recognized that every woman has a unique style and a desire for beautiful handbags to add a pop of personality to every outfit. Her vision was crystal clear: she wanted to create beautiful, limited edition handbags and accessories that add an extra wow factor. We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
In 2020, my husband and I launched NARWHAL Life and introduced the NARWHAL Speaker Lid. It’s a Bluetooth, waterproof speaker that fits your favorite tumbler. The NARWHAL is perfect for the lake, beach, pool, or any outdoor activity and allows you to enjoy music anywhere you go. You can take/make phone calls, change playlists, or ask questions—all with ease. While I love this business, U also wanted to follow my passion for handbags, so I took my expertise and also launched my own company.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I’m located in Fort Worth, Texas—an ideal place to begin an entrepreneurial journey. Having a supportive group of friends who have been amazing in helping spread the word about my line has been such a blessing. I’m truly grateful for my “Good Time Gals” and fabulous neighbors who have been there for me every step of the way. I’m also extremely grateful to Kemo Sabe for trusting me to be in all their stores this November.
