We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jenny Waters a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jenny, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
A defining moment in my career came during one of the hardest times in my life. On the same day my dad went into the hospital for the final time, my husband was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Watching my dad decline and my husband suffer the harsh side effects of immunosuppressant drugs, I realized I needed to take control of my health and help my husband do the same. Through diet and lifestyle changes, we transformed our lives—my husband gained control of his autoimmune disease, got off medications, and we felt better at 50 than we had at 40.
This experience changed everything for me. I realized aging doesn’t have to mean chronic disease, low energy, or giving up on a full life. By putting in the work, I no longer feared getting older. That’s when I knew I had to help other women feel the same empowerment. I became a certified transformational nutrition coach to guide women through midlife with strength, purpose, and joy. The lesson I carry with me is this: we have more control over how we age than we think, and we are worth the effort to create a life we love.

Jenny, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Jenny Waters, a certified transformational nutrition and habit coach dedicated to helping midlife women feel strong, energized, and confident. My focus is on simple, sustainable changes to nutrition, habits, and lifestyle, empowering my clients to navigate menopause and aging with ease.
Through one-on-one coaching and courses like The Consistency Code, I help women tackle common challenges like weight loss resistance, inflammation, and fatigue. What sets me apart is my practical, no-fad approach to creating lasting habits that fit real life.
I’m most proud of the transformations my clients experience—not just in their health, but in their outlook on life. My mission is to show women that thriving in midlife is absolutely possible, and that aging can be a time of strength, joy, and fulfillment.

Have you ever had to pivot?
My career path has been anything but linear, but each pivot has brought me closer to the work I love today. I earned my degree in Mechanical Engineering and started as a facility engineer. Later, I worked alongside my husband in our Industrial Automation Manufacturing Rep firm, gaining experience as a business owner and leader. While my daughters were in high school, I took on a part-time role as a youth director, coaching teenagers and inspiring their moms to embrace joy and connection.
When that chapter ended, I pivoted again—this time into health coaching. Each of these experiences now shapes how I serve my clients. My engineering background fuels my love for creating systems and routines, my business experience helps me guide others through change, and my time as a youth director honed my ability to coach and inspire. Every step along the way has been part of the journey to where I am now, helping women navigate midlife with confidence and purpose.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
I’ve thought about this a lot, and I wouldn’t change anything. While I wasn’t passionate about engineering, it gave me valuable experience in problem-solving, processes, and discipline. At 22, I wasn’t ready for coaching—life experience has been my greatest teacher. Every chapter in my career has prepared me to do the work I love today, helping women navigate midlife with confidence and purpose.
