We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jenny Haber a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jenny thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
I have always been the girl who did my friend’s hair and makeup. From a young age I was mimicking celebrity hairstyle & makeup looks. I would watch all the award shows to learn new trends & styles from the celebrities. I can even remember going garage sailing with my Mom to find those one of a kind pieces. One could say I was born with this talent. I continued this all the way up through high school and into college. I can remember doing “kitchen hair” three-four times a week just to grow my skillset. I applied to Cosmetology school and decided it was my destiny to follow this path. My dad always told us, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life”, something I held close to my heart. I am so glad I listened to that little voice in my gut, because it has been the most rewarding opportunity taking care of my clients. Last year I was blessed enough to open my very own non-toxic hair salon where I focus mainly on the integrity of my client’s scalp & hair health.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hey y’all! My name is Jenny Haber I am a 36 year old Florida native who loves everything about fashion, food, travel, & the beach. I am happily married to my best friend Mike & we live in Lake Worth with our puppy Dutton. I love my huge family and feel so blessed to have so much support in my career.
If I’m not in the salon, you can find me gardening, cooking, thrifting, or exploring all the beauty Florida has to offer. I love the outdoors and it truly fills my cup to explore new locations. My biggest passion would be making people feel their absolute best from the inside- out. I have always loved helping my clients find their inner beauty and helping to enhance their features is the cherry on top.
My services include cutting, coloring, perming, & styling. I find joy in watching my clients glow after each appointment. Three years ago I partnered with a nontoxic beauty brand which allows me the skillset to help my clients achieve their perfect scalp health. I’ve helped hundreds of clients who have hair issues from genetics, medication, postpartum, cancer, covid, etc. These plant based products have changed my direction in the salon and I couldn’t be happier to help as many people as I can. Last year I was blessed enough to opened my own hair salon where we mainly focus on your hair health & how we can achieve your desired results. Just call me your Healthy Hair Guru. Nothing makes me happier than hearing my client has made progression on their hair challenges. If you experience hair thinning, hair loss, oiliness, or even stunted hair growth I can help!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My main strength in my career has always been marketing. I love creating new ways to capture my audience’s attention. Marketing for any business is a highly valuable tool that helps create brand awareness, drive profit and growth, acquire and retain customers, and enhance engagement. Social media has really helped me extend my reach on clients. I have found different ways to engage with my customers and it has helped me double my clientele and profit margins.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being consistent. I think showing up everyday for my clients has helped me build trust & respect in this industry. I have always worked in customer service, so making sure people are heard and feel valued is a huge priority of mine. You can do the best hair with zero customer service and people will not return to your chair. Bad customer service can have a severely negative impact on a business’s reputation. The feeling of being appreciated and seen is huge in this industry. People spend just a small window of time in the chair, it’s the stylist job to make the client feel safe, understood, and valued. This is something that I strive for everyday.
