We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Woodward recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jennifer, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents were hard workers who valued a good day’s effort. Even weekends were spent working- Saturday was yard work and then church, and Sunday we ran errands all day as a family. I did have to learn to slow down a bit as an adult, but I definitely appreciate the work ethic they instilled in me. When I was 14 years old, they told me it was time to get a job. I had no idea how to get a job on my own, but they helped me by reaching out to a family friend. She graciously allowed me to come work with her at her financial firm. She was always patient and kind to me, and made me feel like I was doing work that mattered. She was the first person to ever buy me a Starbucks coffee! It was through this job that I eventually met my husband. Even though I would have rather laid out by the pool all summer like my friends were doing, I loved getting to earn money on my own, and I really loved getting to meet the cute Beau Woodward.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For many women, perimenopause feels like a mystery. Seemingly overnight, the body starts changing—stubborn belly fat appears, energy levels plummet, sleep becomes elusive, and moods swing from one extreme to another. Yet, when they turn to their doctors for answers, they’re often met with dismissive phrases like “It’s just aging” or “Your labs are normal.”
I know this frustration all too well. As a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN) with a Master’s in Nutrition, I’ve dedicated my career to helping women navigate midlife with confidence and clarity. I’ve made it my mission to cut through the confusion, provide real solutions, and help women feel like themselves again.
How I Got Here
I got into this work because I saw too many women struggling—tired, bloated, irritable, gaining weight for no reason, and feeling completely disconnected from their bodies. The worst part? Their doctors weren’t helping. I kept hearing the same stories:
• “My doctor says my labs are normal, but I feel awful.”
• “I’ve tried every diet, but nothing works anymore.”
• “I can’t sleep, I’m exhausted all day, and no one has answers.”
I knew there had to be a better way. Instead of masking symptoms, I turned to functional lab testing, nutrition, and lifestyle strategies that actually address the root cause of these midlife struggles- the same struggles I was going through myself! That’s when everything changed—not just for me, but for the thousands of women I’ve helped since.
How I Help Women Feel Better, Faster
I offer three core solutions, depending on what a woman needs:
My Book: Easy Perimenopause: The Essential Guide to Modern Midlife – This is the no-BS guide I wish every woman had before perimenopause hit. It’s packed with science-backed strategies to fix midlife symptoms without the overwhelm.
The Perimenopause Hormone Reset: A 28-day self-paced program designed to help women feel better in a matter of days. I break down exactly what to eat, what to do, and how to reset hormones fast—so they can start seeing results like better sleep, fewer cravings, and more energy right away.
Easy Perimenopause Group Coaching: This is my high-touch, 16-week coaching program, where I work closely with women who are ready for a full transformation. We use functional lab testing to find the real root causes of stubborn weight, fatigue, mood swings, and hormone chaos—then create a personalized, step-by-step plan to finally get results. Women in this program lose an average of 20 pounds in 4 months, sleep through the night, and regain their energy and confidence.
Why This Approach Works
What sets me apart from other nutritionists and health coaches is simple: I don’t guess—I test.
Most perimenopause advice is either outdated, overly complicated, or completely dismisses the real biochemical changes happening in a woman’s body. I believe in data. That’s why I use functional lab testing to identify hidden hormone imbalances, metabolic dysfunction, gut issues, and inflammation—the real reasons women struggle in midlife.
Once we have the right data, everything changes. Women stop wasting time on random diets and supplements that don’t work and start focusing on targeted strategies that actually move the needle.
What I’m Most Proud Of
Watching women finally feel like themselves again—without extreme dieting or punishing workouts.
Publishing a book that makes perimenopause easy to understand and navigate.
Building a movement where women refuse to accept “this is just aging” as an answer.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
When I think about what has truly grown my business, one word comes to mind: community. The women I work with are absolutely amazing, and my strongest source of new clients has always been referrals and word-of-mouth.
Women in perimenopause often feel lost, dismissed, and unheard. But once they find something that actually works—a program, a coach, a community that truly sees and supports them—they can’t help but share it. That’s exactly what’s happened in my business. Women start feeling better, and they tell their friends. It’s that simple.
A big part of this comes from my quarterly Perimenopause Hormone Reset group programs. Women join because they’re struggling with weight gain, exhaustion, mood swings, and frustrating symptoms that no one else has been able to help with. Within a few weeks, they start to feel better—they sleep deeper, their energy comes back, the bloating disappears, and the pounds finally start coming off. That transformation is powerful. And when they feel that shift, they want more. They want to continue working with me in my high-touch coaching program, and they tell their sisters, best friends, and coworkers about it.
I approach my business the way I’d want to be treated if I were the client. What would I want in a coach? What would I need from a program? I build from there—and then I add just a little more. I want every woman who works with me to feel seen, heard, and deeply cared for. That’s what sets my programs apart: it’s not just about fixing hormones or losing weight—it’s about truly supporting women through this stage of life.
I’m passionate about making sure women feel loved on, supported, and most importantly—heard. And I think that’s why my business has grown the way it has. When women finally feel understood, when they get real answers and see real results, they naturally want to share that experience.
There’s no better marketing strategy than women helping other women find solutions. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
One of the most impactful books I’ve read as an entrepreneur is Chill and Prosper by Denise Duffield-Thomas. It was recommended to me by my friend and mentor, Pam Curry, and it completely shifted the way I approach my business and mindset.
The book’s core message is simple but powerful: Do your very best work and don’t stress about the money—because “there’s always more money.” Instead of operating from a place of fear or scarcity, it encourages entrepreneurs to focus on joy, service, and gratitude. And when you do that, the money will follow.
This philosophy has given me so much peace as I’ve grown my business. It’s easy to get caught up in numbers, sales goals, or the pressure to constantly hustle. But Chill and Prosper reminded me that when I focus on showing up for my clients, creating valuable content, and truly loving on the women in my community, everything else falls into place.
This mindset shift has freed me up to do what I do best—helping women reclaim their health, feel heard, and finally see real results in midlife. Instead of constantly worrying about whether I’m doing “enough,” I trust that when I pour into my work with authenticity and service, success will naturally follow.
If you’re an entrepreneur who’s feeling stuck in stress, hustle, or scarcity thinking, I highly recommend this book. It’s a game-changer—not just for business, but for life.
