Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jennifer Vigoa. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jennifer, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?
I have been involved in the hospitality industry since I was 15. My very first job was working the Chinese take out counter at my local Chinese restaurant and from there I learned how to bartend and ended up working at a local restaurant and then sports bar for 7 years. I met a lot of people who ended up becoming helpful connections + clients when I first started out in real estate.
Currently I live in Wellington where we are the Equestrian capital of the world and during the seasonal circuit I’ll still bartend because it is such a great way to meet people organically and converse with people in the community.
I find that hospitality and real estate go hand in hand. My philosophy is relationships over everything. You may not be buying or selling real estate today, tomorrow, next week or even next year, but when you’re ready I’m here and even there in between for all your questions on the market and giving my honest opinion because their best interest is always first. World class customer service and creating an experience tailored to the individual no matter who you are or what your budget is, is my goal. I’m here to be a resource, and helping people accomplish a real estate goal is the ultimate bonus!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Jenn + I am one of the few native Floridians that were born and raised in Palm Beach County. This is my 5th year in real estate + I couldn’t be happier! I truly found something I am so incredibly passionate about. Having raw conversations with home Buyers or Sellers and hearing their stories is what makes everyday so different. No client or customer I have ever worked with is the same + that’s what makes all of these relationships that I have developed over the years so special!
I originally thought I was going to be a forensic scientist, I was obsessed with CSI: Miami, I even did the Biotech program in high school, but next thing I knew I was getting my degree in Interior Design. I’m really calling myself out here but I loved the game SIMS. I didn’t love it for the actual game itself, I loved the building aspect of it. I would find the money cheat codes and build all these crazy extravagant houses, move the sim in and then move onto another house until I realized I was developing a community. I worked in the interior design field for about a year and then went back into hospitality full time until one day I kind of had a revelation and felt like real estate could be a good fit for me. I’d get to work with different people, see different houses, and still use my creativeness to help “paint a picture” for people who were open to projects and renovations.
Recently I was actually able to put the creativeness to work with clients of mine that have become dear friends! They are the sweetest most genuine people you’ll ever meet and they purchased a new construction home with me in April of 2024. Being out of state, having a brand new house with no furnishings, and knowing my background in interior design they asked if I’d help them furnish their entire house. Of course I accepted and got to design their entire home. Although it was a lot of hard work and time, being there the day of the reveal and seeing their reactions it made it all worth it!
Something that I think sets me apart is the relationship doesn’t end when the home sells. As I mentioned I pride myself on being a resource. I want to be there for them when they need an electrician or a handyman to do some tasks. Every year I have a client appreciation happy hour where I invite past, and present clients and get everyone together to mix and mingle, essentially breaking bread with everyone and I think that’s something so special knowing all of these people are here because they all have one thing in common, they hired me to be their agent and represent them in one of the most important transactions of their lives and for me it just puts things into perspective and gives me an immense amount of gratitude for having this privilege. It’s not something I take lightly!
I’m most proud of the business and following that I have built. I have never been one to brag or attention seek but when I see reviews from past clients get posted or those text messages expressing their gratitude for me I just want everyone to know the home buying or selling process doesn’t have to be so daunting and having the right conversation with the right person is all it takes! I’ll continue to always say relationships first and the rest will just come!

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I currently send out weekly emails every Saturday morning. I make sure to cover a little bit of everything, it isn’t always market updates. Sometimes it’s new developments in the communities that I work in and sometimes it family or holiday related. I just recently started a “series” of highlighting small businesses in Wellington where I live. So far I’ve only done 1 episode which was in December and I am getting ready to release episode 2. I think more than ever a sense of community + just support in general is so crucial.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I am a people pleaser at heart and at the end of the day I wanted everyone to like me and want to work with me. Rejection is a hard pill to swallow and I’ll admit my first 1-2 years in real estate I learned that the hard way. I was a new mom and chasing people who didn’t respect my time, and I was so blinded by thinking if I chased them it showed them how hard I was working for them and cared about them. It’s easy to get wrapped up in that when you first get licensed but eventually you find your people and they will gravitate to you!
