We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jennifer Smalls. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jennifer below.
Jennifer, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
From Tweens 2 Queens is a volunteer program that is designed to mentor and provide tools and resources to girls from ages 10-13. We provide a safe haven to girls as they matriculate through their adolescent years.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I was raised in St Augustine and educated in the St John’s County School system. I returned back to St. Augustine from Atlanta 6 years ago. I’m currently employed with the St. Augustine Police Department as the Accreditation Manager. From Tweens 2 Queens was created out of need, there was/is a lack of these type of programs in our community for our kids, and the statistics continue to show our kids being left behind because of lack of resources and or exposure.
From Tweens 2 Queens seek to fill that void by providing mentoring, guidance, counseling, and exposure. We believe that “Representation Matters”, so we show and expose these young ladies to who they can become and how they can impact and make a difference in their community.

How’d you meet your business partner?
My co-founder is Mrs. Stephanie Merrill Miller. Stephanie and I grew up together, we’re high school classmates and we went off to college together our first year. Stephanie is an educator in the Duval County School System. Stephanie is equally concerned and passionate about our kids and their future.
