Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. Looking back, what’s an important lesson you learned at a prior job
Your job is not everything. When you take a step back and reflect on what’s most important in your life, it’s usually not your job. I was experiencing stress, self doubt, anxiety and overwhelm in my job – I would show up and feel so discouraged, not feeling like myself. It took a significant medical issue that my husband experienced for me to take a step back to figure out what was important in my life and how to truly pay attention to my priorities. This turning point in our life, showed me that it was ok to take a risk – I decided to put myself first, because I was trying to pour from an empty cup. Once I started taking care of myself, I could give back more to my family and take care of my husband and our home when we needed the support the most. At that time, I decided to pursue coaching school, a decision I made in an effort to not remain complacent in my job. I finished coaching school, started my own business and was able to leave the job that held me back for so many years.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I entered into Health Coach Institute in March 2021, before I completed this course – I went through 2 unsuccessful IVF courses. Following the first failed attempt, I focused on supporting my husband through a significant medical complication – I was not able to process the failed IVF cycle. The second IVF cycle, I had less than a few weeks of course work to complete. I wanted to quit. All of the failures from the past year got me down, I questioned everything about my future, and frankly, I did not want to finish the course. I was feeling discouraged and was filled with doubt of whether I could actually be a business owner. I decided I would go to a live networking event that Health Coach Institute was putting on, for me, this was a last ditch effort to motivate me to finish the course and might have been my deciding factor if this is actually what I wanted to do. All I can say is that was the best decision I could have made. I surrounded myself with like-minded, kind coaches who were encouraging and supportive and gave me the inspiration I needed. It’s crazy to think what surrounding yourself with the right people can do for you and for your career. I came home from that event with a new fire that allowed me to finish the course and launch my business. I have stayed connected with some of the coaches I met at that event and will consider them life-long friends.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
As a new coach, I thought people were just going to come to me, boy, was I wrong! Starting a business and finding your people is hard and without a marketing background, I decided to hire a sales coach to guide me in this process. I realized quite early on, that I could not market everywhere, it was too overwhelming to think that I needed a presence on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and wherever else you are encouraged to market. I focused on one avenue and re-purposed a lot of my material to market in other areas. Putting myself out there, sharing my story, my struggles and what I have learned along the way has been helpful in attracting those that can relate to my journey. I have opened up my life, my vulnerabilities and who I am as a person to ensure I attract those that can benefit most from what I can offer. I focused on Facebook by joining groups, engaged and built relationships to invite folks to my private group where I share tips, trainings and resources on how to manage the stress and anxiety and live a simpler life. My advice, start in one place and get comfortable before expanding your reach. Be sure to be organized and plan your content in way that does overwhelm and take away from other tasks that move your business and/or life forward.
