We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Pando recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jennifer, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How’s you first get into your field – what was your first job in this field?
I got my first job in the field of laser tattoo removal after the COVID-19 Pandemic. I owned a successful but exhausting photography business for 13 years and during the Pandemic I realized now was the time to open new doors of possibilities to my future. I thought of what I could do to help people, and I knew a lot about the tattoo industry as I had been involved in the industry for many years. Removals is something I had always been interested in but did not ever hear of anybody that offered the service.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
With my photography business, the pandemic gave me the opportunity to slow down and realize I needed a change. It was the perfect time to open new doors of possibilities to my future; and that is where Laser Tattoo Removal came to mind. I thought of what I could do to help people, and I knew a lot about the tattoo industry as I had been involved in the industry for many years. Removals had always been something I had always been interested in but did not ever hear of anybody that offered the service. Helping people has because the core of my business, it is not just about removing bad or funny mistakes; more often than not it is about helping people move on from something in their past if it be a bad experience with the tattoo artist, bad relationship, abuse, addiction, gang relation or human trafficking and so much more. I offer removals from the best in technology, I use my experience to help guide the clients in proper before and after care for the best possible results, and most importantly I try to provide a personal and comfortable experience with each of my clients with compassion. Giving my clients a warm welcome and a bit of friendliness and understanding during a uncomfortable situation is very important.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Where it is rather easy getting a certificate for laser tattoo removal, I do believe it is important to understand how tattoos work with the body as well so having a knowledge of needle size, depth, inks used, age of the tattoo, client age & health and location on the body etc plays a huge role in being knowledgable about how easily the tattoo will fade. I take it upon myself to research and learn what works best for each of my clients needs.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I find the most effective strategy for growing clientele is word of mouth. In this industry people have the idea of tattoo removal for unwanted tattoos but they do not realize how within reach their goals are until they meet somebody that has had it done before. A large majority of my clients come from referrals of other clients as well as referrals from tattoo artists.
