We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jennifer P. Jackson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jennifer P. below.
Jennifer P., looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is Bloodsoil, a VR360 horror-fantasy comedy that merges ancestral memory with immersive technology. It tells the story of a sacred slave ritual cut short in 1825, where a cursed artifact binds centuries of pain to the land. Centuries later, when that soil is disturbed, the enslaved dead rise to deliver the justice history denied.
Bloodsoil bridges art, history, and tech while carving out more representation in genres like horror and fantasy—spaces where Black stories rarely get to exist freely. The tone is wild and unexpected, like a collision between Evil Dead, GTA, and The Sims. It’s haunting, funny, and socially aware all at once. Every frame was built to immerse people in that mix—to laugh, to flinch, and to feel the heartbeat of the land beneath it all. For me, it’s more than storytelling; it’s reclamation through creativity and chaos.

Jennifer P., before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Jennifer P. Jackson, a media mogul, VR developer, and the CEO of H2D Industries Entertainment, the parent company behind my creative ventures in film, music, and technology. Under H2D, I built FunkWave Universe, a platform dedicated to immersive storytelling through VR360 experiences, original music, and digital art. I also create NFTs and am currently developing MetaCult Legends, a VR360 social media game that fuses storytelling, community, and innovation into one interactive world.
I got into this field because I’ve always believed stories should evolve with technology. I wanted to merge narrative, sound, and immersion into something that connects on a deeper level—where audiences don’t just watch the story, they enter it. That vision led me to virtual reality, where I could bring cinematic and cultural storytelling into new dimensions.
My work focuses on expanding Black representation in tech-driven genres like horror, fantasy, and sci-fi—spaces where our stories are often underrepresented or misrepresented. Projects like Bloodsoil, a VR360 horror-fantasy comedy, reclaim space for our culture in those genres, blending history, humor, and innovation in one.
What sets my brand apart is how it fuses technology with cultural storytelling. I’m a developer, composer, and director who builds everything from the ground up—worlds, music, visuals, and experiences—all crafted to leave an emotional and visual impact. What I’m most proud of is that I’ve built this independently. No major backing, no shortcuts—just vision, skill, and the determination to prove that Black creators belong at the forefront of the future of entertainment.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My resilience shows up every time I release a project like Bloodsoil. I pour everything into what I create—the time, the resources, the vision—and still face moments where the public response doesn’t match the effort behind it. It can be discouraging when something you know is groundbreaking doesn’t immediately get the attention or support it deserves. But I’ve learned not to measure my purpose by applause.
Even in those quiet seasons, there’s a voice inside me that says, keep going. That voice reminds me that what I’m building is bigger than a single release—it’s legacy work. It’s about showing what’s possible when a Black creator refuses to wait for permission or validation.
So I keep creating with the same intensity every time, whether the world is watching or not. Because the truth is, I’m not driven by trends or numbers. I’m driven by calling. And that’s what keeps me moving forward, even in the silence.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely. My mission is representation with revolution. I want to make sure Black stories exist in every space—especially in genres and mediums we’ve been shut out of, like horror, fantasy, and science fiction. I’m not just creating content; I’m reclaiming the narrative. Too often, we’re portrayed through pain without power, or beauty without depth. My goal is to flip that—to show our brilliance, resilience, and complexity in ways that command the screen.
Every world I build under H2D Industries and FunkWave Universe—whether it’s Bloodsoil or MetaCult Legends—centers Black creativity in spaces dominated by everyone else. I want future generations to put on a headset or open a game and see themselves as the main character, not the side note.
At the core, my mission is about legacy. I’m building worlds that say: we’ve always belonged here. We’ve always had magic, invention, and power. I just put it in 360°.
