Jennifer, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Quality control is a challenge almost every entrepreneur has had to focus on when growing – any advice, stories or insight around how to best ensure quality is maintained as your business scales?
My business continues to grow, and the way I maintain quality is with excellent communication. Challenges are guaranteed, but what matters is how you handle challenges. I am human just like everyone else and sometimes not everything goes to plan. I’ve found in my experience that as long as I communicate to my clients what the challenge is and how we are going to overcome it, often times this leads to a stronger relationship with my clients. My communication with my clients ensures that they can trust me.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into Estate Planning by asking the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce for a list of law firms I could intern with. This was right after I graduated CSUF and wanted to see if law was something I really wanted to. 14 years later, I am now an Estate Planning (EP) Attorney.
As an EP Attorney, I draft and amend Trusts, assist with Trust Administration and Probate Administration. The EP side of my practice focuses on distributing assets upon death. I also do a small amount of Personal Injury. This side of the practice focuses on auto collisions and injuries that occur as a result of an auto collision.
My practice is special in the sense that I practice this area of law for a special reason. I lost my Mother in 2018 and it’s putting my pain from losing her into my passion for law, that allows we to honor her in my daily work. I get to tell her story to my clients, which in a way is therapeutic for me. Lastly, and most importantly- I have experienced losing my Mother and distributing her assets to my Father. This personal experience allows me to better assist my clients because I have been in their shoes.
In short, leading from experience, empathy and honesty is what I like to say is special about my firm.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My personality and genuineness hands down is why my business continues to grow. My clients come to me for me. I don’t pass my clients off to a phone service or Paralegal. Some Attorneys might think I am insane for this, but my clients have direct access to me. If they have a question or concern, they can text, call or email me anytime (within reasonable business hours). I really don’t have a problem with boundaries with my clients because I ensure they are taken care of from beginning to end.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy I have implemented in growing my clientele is just being myself. I have a very down to earth personality and easily connect with people. However, I am also very Type A and insist everything I offer to my clients be above and beyond. My Trust signings are extremely detailed and my final binder package I give to my Trust clients includes e-copies, agents copies, bank copies, copies for the clients and copies for me. I also follow up to ensure my clients have properly funded each asset. It’s this attention to detail and genuine level of service that I believe is what is the most effective strategy for growing my clientele.
