We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Miesel recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)

As I always preach CONSISTENCY! It is imperative for clients who are serious about their skincare goals to be consistent, patient and of course trust their Aesthetician! I had a client one time tell me one time she had no hope with her acne struggle. She took my advice as her provider over tik tok (thank god!) she was patient and she was consistent with her regimen. In less than 6 months she had never seen her skin so clear! So, even if it takes a little time, you will get there and never be happier!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I currently provide services such as the Hydrafacial, Micro-Needling, Chemical Peels, Red light therapy, Dermaplaning and body contouring/healing services with the EM-Sculpt NEO.

I got into this industry about 17 years ago with a passion for treating people and making them feel better about themselves because as a young girl I used to have low self esteem. I began my career in a hospital setting treating burned victims and cancer patients which was by far the most rewarding position I had ever taken.

Later, I moved to South Carolina where I crafted my expertise in full body waxing.
I then decided to open my own business where I offered a wide range of esthetic/beauty services and made some of the most important people in my life today!
Amongst entrepreneurship I also worked for a medical spa to offer more advanced treatments and that’s when I fell in love with the science of the skin. I took every advanced course I possibly could.

However, after battling some life challenges and medical issues I was ready to take a step back and focus on me and my family. That break didn’t last long haha I was just being re-routed to where I’m supposed to be today!
So, jumping forward, I am currently with the Serotonin Centers of Charleston. Where I proudly provide top of the line aesthetic services while working hand in hand with a medical team that offers Bio identical hormone replacement therapy, IV therapy, injectables and more! It’s truly an honor to be a part of such an amazing team.

I would say the thing that sets me apart from others is that I am honest with my clients and what they need and I genuinely care about them and their well being. Which in my opinion is not so common anymore.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?

Absolutely! If I could go back in time I would choose this profession over and over every single time. It is true what they say “when you love what you do, you never work a day in your life”.
This has been an extremely rewarding and humbling journey for me and I truly couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?

I think it’s extremely important to remind yourself that you don’t know it all and every day you will learn something new! Success for me has been achievable because I’ve never stopped learning.
