Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jennifer Mason. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jennifer, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
How single lady notes came about is quite interesting. I’ve always talked about love and relationships on my social media platforms and I always felt as if people that knew me were judging me. So one night after experiencing disappointment from a dating situation I decided that I was going to create a space on Instagram where I was going to vent. So the name Singleladynotes came about I created an Instagram page a short landing page and I got started venting lol. Little did I know that there were hundreds of thousands of women who felt the same way in here we are today continuance to grow as God would allow.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I fell into the love and relationship world . I actually fought it for a long time but it naturally oozes out of me . I read books , watch YouTube’s , listen to podcast and have experienced love & some toxicity . I started blogging in 2013 and my blogs later became my first book “Good girl gone bad gone holy “. From there I made an Instagram page Singleladynotes.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I feel like my whole life is a journey of resilience. One example I can give you is when I went back to school to study medical clinical assisting I was told during orientation that I would never graduate. I would never get a job and all of these things because of my past. Not only did I continue to go to school I was given the opportunity to work at a doctors office that never hired anyone from the school and I graduated with honors. After shortly after that, I want to be become an entrepreneur and didn’t have to work for anyone for several years. I don’t believe the doors get shut in my face. I believe that God has the key to every door that is a top that is a sign to my destiny.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I recently had to pivot in 2019. I was going through a divorce from a very toxic narcissistic ex. At this point of my life, I had drained my savings. My businesses had started to fail, and I had to pivot back into the 9 to 5 world. I don’t regret it at all. I took the time to do what I needed to do to get so I wanted to be and now I see the beauty and having a 9 to 5 and also having a business.
