Hi Jennifer , thanks for joining us today. Have you ever had an amazing boss, mentor or leader leading you? Can you us a story or anecdote that helps illustrate why this person was such a great leader and the impact they had on you or their team?

My first manager at Massage Envy was Misty. She was absolutely amazing. She always made the therapist feel valued. She was stern but very fair. I strive to be boss just like her. She had the biggest heart. One time I was working back to back because another therapist called out When I finished my session that fell in my break she had my cavort smoothie waiting for me.
I knew she felt bad because I was always willing to do a session when therapists called out. I never felt like she was taking advantage.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Making the decision of going on my own was not easy. I knew I was not happy at my current job and I needed a change. I had the opportunity to start my business late 2020 and I took it. It was hard working part time at my other job and also growing my business. A lot of sleepless nights but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

I have rented at a few salons to start off with. To keep it light there was a lot of drama. I felt some push back from not completely “fitting in”. But I never let it stop me. I pushed forward and now have opened my own space. So I can be myself and run the business my way!
