We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jennifer Mares. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jennifer below.
Jennifer, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successful it takes failing multiple times. It takes learning not to please everyone and understand that not everyone is supposed to like you. Understand your fears and overcome them a step at a time.
Jennifer, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I began my journey in the Real Estate Industry when I was 21 years old while attending college. I was mentored by Mariana Saldaña. Fast forward to today, ten years later I am still a part of the Uptown Real Estate and merged with KW. I specialize in the Galleria Area and inside the loop. I’ve assisted many families to buy their future home in Houston and surrounding areas. It humbles me to know that I have been a part of many Houstonians and Foreign Nationals American Dream and that is to be a homeowner! Building relationships is what matters to me the most and I have been able to maintain that through caring for my clients and giving back to our community!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Being present in different social activities and that includes doing what I am very passionate about. And that is helping people get into their next home. Ironically I am also an advocate for the homeless community in Houston. Getting people into homes is not just about the business and investment that people are making. It is the long term goal of helping people buying or leasing to make it their home. A home is not just a place with decor it is where people should feel peace and safety. I truly think people that see that authenticity choose me as their Realtor because they know I care.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source has been building relationships through networking! When I said I built my reputation by being present in many social activities and groups I really have. There’s people I instantly connect with and I build a relationship and it has been my best source to receive referrals and clients.
