We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jennifer Lunsford. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jennifer below.
Jennifer, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Passion. There is one thing I have learned working in the corporate world that has really transferred to my business and it is being passionate about what you are doing. I found passion making an impact. Helping others is my passion. I learned quickly mornings are the preview of the day. What better way to start off the day but with a great cup of coffee?
There have been times where I felt I wasn’t successful. It made me dig deep into what I truly care about. Once I seen how that relates to my work environment the opportunities opened up. People feel passion. They see the energy and commitment you have to what you are doing and are drawn to that. Finding your passion at work will not only increase job joy but bring more success.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
2019 – a mom to 3 kids. I hit a wall in the role I was in at the time, where I was feeling a burnt out. How can I continue to invest in myself? How can I have more control of my future? That’s where the coffee shop first started to come to life. My main goal was to provide the very best and invest back into small business’s “That’s Sip”. I am proud to say I currently source my beans from a local roaster in Maplewood called LC Coffee Roasters and use two local bakeries Great Harvest and Cake House Designs. We do events once a season where we invite local vendors free of charge and promote local as often as we can!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
We are still in the process of growing our social media audience but it has truly been a game changer for us. Each week we post a drink of the week on our social media. Our customers love it. Each week they look forward to the post and it keeps our customers returning for more!
Any advice for managing a team?
Create a culture. We have a small team but it is mighty. We understand each others backgrounds and respect boundaries. We talk through the difficult conversations and support one another. We come in each day knowing it might be crazy but we have each other and we will work through it. Culture is so important in our business and I’m so proud of my team for really owning that.
