We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jennifer Jakobsen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jennifer, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
Yes, I help women build the foundation of their business first instead of focusing on things that don’t really matter in the beginning. My signature foundational system helps women to gain clarity and confidence around the important pieces in their business first. You can’t build anything without a foundation. So often I see my clients get focused on building a perfect website, email funnel or business logo as their first step. This is actually backwards. I help them to get ultra clear on their vision, their mission, who their dream client is and how they help them before they do anything else. The other part of clarity that I help them with is their mindset blocks. These will inevitably come up as an entrepreneur and knowing is critical to navigating the ups and downs.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a clarity and confidence coach for female entrepreneurs. I have always been passionate about helping others. I have my Master’s degree in clinical Social Work and worked for many years as a psychotherapist. When I first heard about life coaching, I was hooked. I loved the idea of helping people achieve their big goals. I got certified 5 years ago as a life coach but when I started I did not know much about the business side of things. I personally struggled so much in the beginning of my business and now I want to help others not make the same. I offer individual and group coaching to help women get crystal clear in their business so they can feel confident to make sales in their business. I have learned so much along the way and have discovered what I feel is the secret code to success in business. I now teach this 5 C framework to help women get clear so they can make more cash. This is my mission and I truly love what I do.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I really believe that forming connections is the most important thing in business. Before we do this however, we need to be clear on what it is we do and how we help. People really want to know about the transformation we help our clients achieve more than anything else. Once we are clear on this and we connect with people in our community, clients will be drawn to us. Clarity leads to confidence and when we are confident we make connections that are powerful. These connections will either lead to new clients, future clients or referral sources.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I have been a life coach for 5 years and have come up against every obstacle in the book. I have struggled with figuring out my niche and had a hard time getting clients for a long time. It felt like I tried everything and it got really hard at times. I never gave up because I truly love what I do and I was committed to making my business work no matter what. I believe that if we are really clear on our mission in our business we will stay resilient. If you love what you do you will eventually find success.
