We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jennifer Hasbun a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jennifer thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My Social Media Management company started thanks to the content that I was creating about the restaurants that I visited. It is something that I love, that I enjoy doing. I had so much fun doing it and being focused in creating awesome content that when people saw it it would make them want to go that I had not realized the love I felt for working with restaurants.
Everything changed one day when I was visiting a restaurant as Influencer and the manager approached me to tell me how much he liked my content and the way I handled it, there he asked me if I was also dedicated to that because they would like me to work their account. What a surprise for me! The truth is that I answered no, the manager told me to think about it and let him know. I went home with that question in my head, which made me think a lot. I thought, if I’m so passionate about this, why don’t I dare? So days later I accepted his offer and we started working!
I started as a freelancer just managing one account by myself, then thanks to the content I made for that restaurant and the one I kept creating for my accounts @jennifermhasbun and @miamifoodlifestyle, more restaurants began to approach me with the same concern. Seeing the great need that food establishments have of a person who is in charge of keeping their social medial aesthetic, organized, clear and of creating valuable content with quality that also provokes people to visit that place was the reason why which I decided to establish my company, 360 Redesign & Marketing.
At the beginning it was just me for everything, in charge of the pages, visiting the establishments and creating the content. Thank God today I have an amazing team of 5 people who are excellent professionals and creatives.
I thought this would work because the need was obvious. Even I myself sometimes saw restaurants on Instagram and thought: I really don’t feel like going. It could be the best restaurant in Miami, but if what they showed on their Instagram profile was not aesthetic, attractive, or organized, it would be very difficult to even recommend it to friends. Let’s be honest, we eat with our eyes! If someone tell us about a restaurant he first thing we do is look for it on Instagram or no?
The most exciting thing about this idea for me was being able to continue doing what I’m passionate about at another level, a more professional and working level. In addition to being able to get more involved within the restaurants and at the same time see how people enjoy the content that we are creating for them.
At 360 we are dedicated to Social Media Management, content creation, professional food photography and many more services according to the client’s needs.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into the hospitality industry as lifestyle influencer. This started just creating content because I enjoyed doing it. Time passed and I got my first campaign, and one takes you to another! And here we are now lol! From 4,000 followers to 104K!
Being a lifestyle influencer gave me the opportunity to visit restaurants and share my experience with my audience, that open the door to a passion I didn’t know I have for working with restaurants and creating content for them. Thanks to that passion now I’m a social media manager managing more than 10 successful restaurants in Miami.
My team and I we’re different from others, why? We LOVE what we do. We actually care for the image of a restaurant. We have a space for all type of restaurants, it doesn’t matter your budget, we’ll help you!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Doing an amazing work, give it all , enjoy what I do and actually truly care about the restaurants we work with.
How’d you meet your business partner?
My first business partner was my husband, Ostwal. He’s my main supporter and the one to encourage to do what I love!
The other side of my team I met them in collage through other colleagues of the industry.
