We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Francis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jennifer, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with a fun one – what’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
Organizing is something we love to see how ot looks, but its hard for everyone to have the focus, patience or vision of how to work the space. I have had people mention that husbands will say “ we can do this ourselves”. We don’t need someone to do this. I see this everyday and not all people can remove the emotion from their own items or space.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My background is visual presentation in space planning and retail environments. I was doing that in corporate America for a little over 20 years. Making the most out of the space that we have, or having some thing, flow or work in a way that is more of a reality for each individual versus some Instagram or social media post that we see and sometimes envy.
I thrive on the idea of helping reset home or office space so it makes sense.
it’s not just about bins and labels (which is nice as we know ), but also it is to see their faces and how important it is for their own mental day-to-day life of knowing everything does have a place and that they can finally breathe when they walk into their home or office
Everyone discusses their spaces and what to do once I leave. I always make sure that every single thing has a space and place in their home or office. What they do with that once I leave is up to them, but they will know that they will have a home for their items.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
It took some time to get here. I’ve been in business for over seven years, however, word of mouth has been my primary aid for new clients. I would say that is about 85% of any new clients that I get.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe that relating to the people on their level. I create environments that are not only appealing to look at new and fresh, and all the things that we want and see, but I also focus on reality versus what we see on social media.
I try to incorporate things that I wouldn’t do so if I wouldn’t do it I a lot of times feel that others wouldn’t do it as well in terms of placement of items or location of items, etc..
I have a relaxed personality going in to peoples homes, which I also think makes them feel comfortable having someone in their home, which can be able noble situation for some.
