Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jennifer Fidder. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jennifer, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a time you helped a customer really get an amazing result through their work with you.
This is Georgia’s story. Georgia is one of my former online clients from Germany:
Before I started the 12 week Better Mind Better Body Program, I didn’t feel comfortable in my skin. I used to be very skinny and could basically eat whatever I wanted without gaining weight. That was until I was 25. Then the pounds started creeping up on me until the scale eventually showed 40 lbs more. I wasn’t obese but I was bloated, my belly seemed to be in the way all the time, and I was tired and sluggish from all the junk I put into my body. None of my clothes fit anymore, so I started wearing mostly super wide, comfy clothes that would hide my figure. Eventually I started to get depressed and knew I had to change something!
I started working with a nutritionist but didn’t see a lot of changes. Now I knew how to eat healthy but it was just too hard for me to change my habits. I also promised myself to start working out….some day. I was never the sporty type and didn’t really know where to start and so the weeks and months went by. I kept living my life making excuses (I’m too busy! I won’t be able to change anyway!) and my attitude became more and more negative, especially towards myself.
That’s when I met Jennifer. At the time she offered a 21 day challenge. I thought, well, that might work for other people but not for me. She finally convinced me to participate and something unbelievable happened. I had fun! I actually made time for the workouts and after only 3 days I already felt fitter and leaner. My bloating went away and my stomach seemed to shrink.
After the 21 day challenge ended I wanted to continue and decided to invest in Jen’s 12 week program. Since I already got to know Jennifer a little bit through the challenge I definitely wanted to work with her to help me reach my goals. I wanted to be fit, healthy, and enjoy my life again.
I’m not gonna lie. It was tough at the beginning! But every time, with every workout it got a little bit easier.
Especially the mindset sessions helped me a lot! That’s the beauty about working with Jen. It’s not only a program you have to follow. You learn to recognize your limiting beliefs, define your goals, and find out what motivates you. I learned how to break down my goals into attainable steps, I started thinking more about myself, how I can handle obstacles, and learned how to accept and love the person that I am today. This alone made me a much happier person and helped me stay on track.
It was much later that I realized all the other little things that happened along the way because most of it happened unconsciously. I spring cleaned the whole house, I finished projects I had been pushing off for a long time, I bought new workout clothes and fitness became part of my new identity. I am a lot more confident now! I like going out again and explore new things. I enjoy taking having pictures of me taken again. In short, the best thing that happened during my work with Jen is that I completely changed my attitude. I am a much more positive person. I am finally me again! I feel better, I am fitter, I am healthier, and my body is a lot more toned. I already lost a total of 7 lbs pure fat (not over all weight, just FAT!) and even if I didn’t reach my end goal yet, I feel a lot leaner. Once in a while I will fall off the wagon but thanks to Jen I get back on it in no time.
I highly recommend Jen’s program! I was a hopeless case and I could never imagine the progress I made in such a little time working with Jen.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
It all started about 16 years ago in Germany. I was studying social psychology at the university and supported myself by teaching fitness classes and working as a personal trainer. When I moved to the US in 2010 I opened my own personal fitness training business. I realized very early on that while some clients get amazing results with just basic nutrition guidelines and workout plans, others will continue to struggle or fall off the wagon completely, no matter how much support they receive from their trainer.
Due to my studies I was always interested in how the brain and mind work, so I decided to dive deeper into the topic of mindset to be able to help my clients better. I got certified as a NLP-Practitioner as well as hypnotist and started incorporating these techniques into my coaching practice. The shifts my clients made were amazing! They felt better, they were able to adhere to the program, and they got phenomenal results.
I was hooked!! I wanted to be able to change more lives through hypnosis and everything I learned about mindset. That’s when I started offering self-hypnosis workshops (online and in-person) where me and my colleagues teach our participants how they can use hypnosis to make shifts in the way they think, overcome limiting beliefs, and create the life they always dreamed of.
While I still offer online personal training my main work now consists of one-on-one hypnosis sessions, workshops, seminars, and speeches where I show my clients and participants how they can achieve success through happiness using my newly developed M.A.H. Method. My seminars and workshops are held online as well as in-person in the US and Europe, in English and in German.
I am also currently writing my second book which will be published at the end of the year.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I think when the pandemic hit a lot of businesses were faced with uncertainty. While I was already offering some online coaching before COVID, I had to react really quickly to be able to continue working.
I moved all my in-person clients (fitness and hypnosis) over to online training and had to figure out a way to make hypnosis workshops work online (which was kind of tricky at the beginning).
While this whole pandemic was a very traumatic experience for all of us, I am still thankful because it showed me how resilient I am and that anything is possible if you just work hard enough for it. Before the pandemic I would have never thought that I’d be able to run my business on two different continents at the same time. Now I know it’s not only doable (thanks, technology!) but it provides also a lot of freedom and continues opportunities for growth.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Connections, connections, connections. At the beginning I was getting a lot of clients through a third party website where I advertised my services. The problem with those websites is, that you’re always at their mercy. It’s not predictable how many leads (if any) you will receive in any given month.
So I slowly started building my social media presence and received quite a few requests from potential clients through Instagram using mostly local hashtags. For me personally that still wasn’t a good strategy because a) I don’t really enjoy being on social media and creating content for those platforms and b) it is so saturated that it is hard to get attention from potential clients.
By far the best strategy for me always was and still is making connections with others. Be it in networking groups, through introductions from current clients, events, social groups, etc. Simply constantly being out and about an letting people know what I am doing. I also have the advantage that hypnosis still has a bit of that mystic and fascinating aura around it that makes people want to know more. So I make sure to casually drop a word or two about me being a hypnotist in a conversation. ;)
