Jennifer, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
COCKTAIL WEDDING RECEPTION‘s
It is no longer news that the best weddings are the ones organized around the favors of innovation, style and elegance. It is also common knowledge that wedding receptions are taking new forms of arrangements, beyond the ordinary come-one-come-all dining fashion employed a decade ago.
Due to this shift towards what’s cooler and more interesting, event designers often favor cocktail lounge settings for wedding receptions — looking to add that extra oomph of ambience with the trendiest reception in town? Chances are that you are thinking of furniture arrangement ideas that will create, cozy, spacious lounges for your guests. When Planning a Cocktail Reception here are a few hint to get the planning process underway:
Let the Venue Lead
When planning a cocktail lounge reception party, you need to take into consideration the size of the space offered by your venue. Only then will you be able to tailor your furniture requirements perfectly.
Should the event space be on the smaller side, with not as much of the vacant floor space; this will limit the amount of furniture you can fit in.
As a result, you may also want to focus more on including eye-catching, high-end pieces that will help make the big statement. Contrarily, for a large-sized venue, you do not want to leave certain areas looking bare. So, include some extra pieces along with food stations or coffee carts- which are relatively easy to spread around and cover voidness.
Pay Attention to Details
Regardless of location, size of the venue of the purpose of the event, lounges are all about details. They should be as inviting and as cozy as humanly possible. Include side or coffee tables for guests to set their cocktail or cake while they verbally maintain a pleasant environment at the event. Throw in a series of elements that are in perfect coordination with weddings in general, including florals, lighting and colorful décor. Depending on the sunset, the outdoor lounge spaces need to be moderately illuminated with either artificial or natural light. Colorful pillows can also be added to tie in the other design elements of the event.
Comfort is your Best Friend
Never sacrifice comfort for anything.
Cocktail hour is an extension of your reception. What’s the essence of investing in a Pinterest-worthy lounge space that ends up being under-used? There’s a litany of ways to create a reception that lovingly meets the eye, while also keeping guests cozy and wanting to hang out more. Have multiple pieces of furniture in different locations and maybe stock with warm pashminas if the air is cool at night, or add a fun bar cart for after-dinner drinks.
Create an Eclectic Seating Arrangement
If anything, the furniture you are hiring should have colors in sync with your wedding theme and décor. You can throw together a mélange of influential pieces to arrive at a cool eclectic lounge that will harmonize with your wedding décor. Make room for guests to socialize well, and for them to also move around without having to stray too far from the thick of things.
Having the location in mind – whether it is a beachfront, a garden or large family property, think of a very specific layout for the wedding lounge and the perfect furniture to bring the idea to life. Use a seating arrangement that brings everyone together.
Finally, whatever you choose make sure you make the most of your dream wedding while creating a cozy and convivial environment for your guests.
