We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jennifer Chidester a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jennifer thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a fun one – what’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
A lot of people in the event coordination world believe that success is measured by how big or flashy an event is—how many people showed up, how much buzz it generated, or how impressive the production was. But I respectfully disagree. For me, success is about impact. I believe that when I use my God-given gifts to serve faith-based nonprofits, the goal isn’t just to put on a great event—it’s to help them fulfill their mission and raise the resources they need to do God’s work in the world. Even a small gathering can move mountains when done with purpose and heart. I’ve seen it happen.


Jennifer, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m an Event Coordinator Specialist with over 20 years of experience turning special moments into unforgettable experiences. My journey began with planning themed parties, weddings, and church events for family and friends—and it quickly became clear that creating memorable events was more than just a hobby, it was my calling.
Today, I work with families, nonprofits, and organizations to bring their visions to life. Whether it’s a dream wedding, a heartfelt graduation party, a romantic date night event, or a major fundraising gala—I’m here to make it seamless, beautiful, and uniquely you.
I specialize in creating events that not only run smoothly but also leave lasting impressions. For nonprofits, I help plan impactful fundraising events like galas, golf tournaments, skeet shoots, and casino nights. I take pride in selecting causes that are personally meaningful, which makes every event feel even more purposeful. Giving back through these experiences fills my heart as much as it helps the communities I serve.
I’m especially excited about my newest adventure—Festival of Trees at the beautiful Chateau Nouvelle, launching this November! It’s a project filled with creativity, joy, and community spirit, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.
What sets my work apart is the care and intention I bring to each event. I don’t just plan logistics—I listen, collaborate, and design with heart. My goal is always to take your vision and bring it to life in a way that’s both effortless and extraordinary.


How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Absolutely. I actually have a few key pivot points that have shaped my business. I started out immersing myself in all things event coordinating, and with a background in photography, I had a real eye for what brides were looking for. That gave me a strong start in weddings, and my broader event experience helped me understand how to manage the full scope of any celebration or gathering.
One of my biggest pivots came when I chose to step back from going full-time to focus on one of life’s greatest joys — becoming a mom to two amazing kids. I homeschooled them and became the ‘parent-in-charge’ of everything they were involved in, all while keeping my business going part-time. It was a delicate balance, but one that kept me connected to the work I love.
Now, with one child in college and the other graduating high school, I’m pivoting again — this time back into full-time work. I’m excited to expand, take on new clients, and grow the business. We’ve built an amazing team, and we’re even hiring additional staff soon. It feels like the right time, and I’m energized by everything ahead


Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me has always been word of mouth. I truly believe that your word is your bond, and over the years, I’ve worked hard to build a reputation that reflects honesty, reliability, and heart. When people trust you, they remember you—and they tell others about you.
This commitment to integrity is deeply rooted in my Faith and is something I’ve passed on to my children and instilled in my team. Because my name is my brand, every event we take on reflects who I am and what I stand for. I make sure my clients not only feel cared for but also feel confident knowing that what I say, I will do. That consistency and trustworthiness have been the foundation of my business and the reason so many clients come back—and bring others with them.
