We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Bi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The mission for Mystical Illusion Photography is having the clients feel confident and powerful with how they look. I want my client to feel beautiful with who they are, how they look, and how they want their photos to be. I will always ask clients on what their vision is for their photos. I try to bring their vision to life or add a little of my own into it and give clients want they want. In society, there are so many things they want others to do and be like and I want my client to forget about that and make the photos the way they want without being restricted or having to follow through with what society wants them to do. We all have our insecurities and with society adding to it, it makes things more stressful and have us change to someone that we are not. The mission for my photography is to help others feel happy, proud, and confident of themselves when looking back at their photos. This mission means a lot to me because I know what it is like to measure up to expectations of society and others. Life already is hard enough as it is, why not make the photography session fun and inspiring?

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into photography with just having an eye for how I want certain things to look like and how I want others to see things from a different perspective. I had started in 2013 and quit for two years because I got discouraged with it then I started it again in 2015 and have been with it since. Photography is very general and I have dipped into almost everything to see what I enjoy doing the most. Even though I can do a lot of the common photography that a lot of people request, I absolutely enjoy more of engagement, weddings, couples, families, and creative shoots. I am very good at being put on the spot for poses and areas that will look good. I also have worked with hair and make up artists.
Problems I do come across for clients is client not feeling comfortable with themselves and feeling very insecure about how they look. I work with clients on that and help them feel more comfortable and have them be confident in how they look during the session.
What sets me part from others is how I make clients feel comfortable when they work with me, how open I am to trying new things, and being personable with my clients.
I am most proud of my work and sometimes I even surprise myself with my work with how well it turned out with the editing and sometimes in the middle of the shoot, I surprise myself with what I have captured.
I want my potential clients/followers know that I will give my best with what they want for their photos to look like and I enjoy the challenges that clients bring to me for how they want their vision to be
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is being able to be creative with clients and bringing other’s visions to life when they do not think it is possible. I love to see my how happy my clients are with my work and having them coming back every time.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
A particulate goal/mission driving my creative journey is just having people feeling happy and confident in themselves. There has been so much society and social media has ruined for others and I just want people to be who they are deep down without having restrictions and having to mold themselves to fit in. Everyone should be confident with who they are and how they want to show it off.
