We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jenney Korasick. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jenney below.
Jenney, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
The idea for Leche was born during a time when my co-founder, Trish Clifford, and I were both breastfeeding our babies who were born two weeks apart. It was during that time that we realized how much of a precious resource was wasted in the ways that were available to us in storing and using our breast milk. We knew we could find a better way and through much research, created Leche.
We knew from the start we needed to make the Leche experience both easy and exciting for ANY mom — moms have enough to worry about as it is! So, we focused on the seamless experience from start to finish which always includes shipping, shipping materials and easy to follow instructions.
As our brand grows, we love hearing stories of how we’ve helped moms and parents everywhere make just one thing easier. Whether we’ve given them more convenience that makes breastfeeding in a situation tricky or greater flexibility in their daily life…that’s what keeps us going!
With Leche, we’re creating a brand new vertical in the breastfeeding and parenting space. We’re innovating DAILY around testing, safety and other standards that will continue to set Leche up for success as the market leader in this space.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I spent the first 18 years of my career in financial media and personal branding with a focus on brand monetization. That experience has allowed Leche to be successful from a varietal of angles from everything to our partnerships and building our active community of moms, medical professionals, lactation experts, and more.
Trish and I are extremely proud of the experience we built in solving for our own needs but realizing along the way that we can help SO many other moms and parents have a better breastfeeding journey with Leche. Our service allows you to not only prepare breastmilk with the convenience of formula but also allows parents to add freeze dried breast milk to first foods, bath time and so much more!
Because Leche makes your breast milk shelf stable for up to 3 years, we know that we are just scratching the surface on the impact we can have both domestically and internationally for our service.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
During Leche’s soft launch, we were amidst an infant formula crisis that crippled our country. We received an outpouring of interests from moms who wanted to donate or help other moms and babies through Leche as a service. While at the time, we weren’t set up to do that, we are working to develop an ethical, mom-first donation network that will empower moms to not only help babies in need but also empower them to make choices about their own breast milk in ways they haven’t been able to before.
We’re also working to create the FIRST EVER breast milk enhanced formula that we plan on bringing to retail so that all parents have the opportunity to bring the benefits of human milk right from the store to their home.
If the formula crisis taught us one thing, it’s that we need more options when it comes to feeding our babies. Not only are we modernizing breast milk, we’re liberating parents from the tough and limited choices they have in our current infant feeding system, offering more flexibility for sustained nutrition for years to come.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
While Leche is currently a closed loop service for moms, a new business in the breast milk space does not come without challenges. However, we’ve taken all of those challenges face on and answered them with QUALITY. There have been brief periods of time where we’ve had to interrupt production to continue to be the BEST in this growing vertical — for example, implementing critical safety testing no other freeze drying service offers.
Because we are feeding babies, we have no wiggle room for error. Safety continues to be and will always be one of our primary areas we excel and innovate in.
