We were lucky to catch up with Jennalee Massey recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jennalee, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Often outsiders look at a successful business and think it became a success overnight. Even media and especially movies love to gloss over nitty, gritty details that went into that middle phase of your business – after you started but before you got to where you are today. In our experience, overnight success is usually the result of years of hard work laying the foundation for success, but unfortunately, it’s exactly this part of the story that most of the media ignores. Can you talk to us about your scaling up story – what are some of the nitty, gritty details folks should know about?
Pain is Power
When I look back or take a glance at my life or my testimony I realize that indeed Pain is Power. Every time I’ve been out in a sink or swim type of situation I excel forward
My business was originally started as a small baby clothing line on Etsy
When my first son was born. {He is 7 years old now
And his name is Aero}. I walked about it a great job because my baby was sick, and they didn’t care. I said peace out and decided I wanted to start a business.
I learned how to sew,
I learned how to Build a website , I really
Stepped outside my comfort zone. I had to do all
This during wee hours of the night or during nap time. But I was determined
When my second son was born {whom is 4 now & name is Thriver} I really felt like I had to step up my game. I had to show up for my business, myself and now two children. I couldn’t do anything mediocre. I really took
Things to the next level. I started styling influencers, coming out with new collections, growing the seconds on my website and really had to create an actually “brand”. I wanted to create something that was meaningful. I also started getting more personal about who I was, my struggles and being more open with reels and personal goals and struggles that were behind the scene
As time
Went on and life became more difficult I abruptly lost my dad to Covid 2020, and really put my head down to focus even more. I eventually went through a divorce because of the trauma, and I feel as though I was willing to sacrifice and try anything that was put into my path.
The connections started coming, even more and certain opportunities were presented to me and started aligning my life in and unimaginable way. This year my brand with be featured and launching a billboard off 17th St. in the 55 freeway in Orange County, CA! This is such a huge success for me and all the individuals on the billboard.
I don’t plan on stopping here ..
It’s never too late to be a rockstar!!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am most proud of all of my accomplishments and drive, and still being the best mom I can be. Being a parent is extremely difficult, and I feel as though I accomplished a lot during some of the most exhausting years of my life, when my kids were little. I always wanted a life coach, but I feel as though having my two boys gave me the drive that I needed. I want to let fans and followers know that you are fully capable. Even though at times it may feel difficult and impossible Anything is possible. Don’t be afraid to be yourself. Individualism and standing out is OK. There is nothing wrong with being different.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Even with two tiny kids, I’ve always showed up. I even showed up for myself. even if time are difficult and they seem impossible I’ve always pushed myself to be the best version of my self because my children will lead by example.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I never wanna forget where I started. Any memories that pop up in the last seven years I always share and tag my customers. They are the reason they are my drive and they are the people that kept me going. every sale means something! Every person that believe is the drive you need! And they did that for me !
