We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jenna Zimmerle a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jenna, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Our mission at Main Street Markets is to build community by bringing small businesses together and providing opportunities for growth, success, and connections.
Growing up on a non-profit farm rescue, I was introduced to many amazing small business owners. From this experience, I quickly learned that we are all much more successful when we work together to pour into the community. We then developed Main Street Markets, where several small business owners are able to house their inventory under one shared boutique.
In addition to creating opportunities for growth by housing inventory at a storefront, we also developed an event space where artisans are able to host workshops. This provides each small business owner with an opportunity to share their skills and passion with the community.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello! My name is Jenna Zimmerle and I am blessed to be the owner of Main Street Markets. Main Street Markets offers a wide variety of products and workshops, as we have over thirty artisans located in our shop. This ranges from woodworking, handmade jewelry, soap, candles, perfumes, freeze dried candy, tumblers, t-shirts, and so much more! We take pride in supporting local artisans by hosting their workshops and selling their handmade goods.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
After finishing my Master of Education and obtaining my gifted endorsement in secondary mathematics, I decided to pivot and use my mathematics skills to open a business. This career change was not expected, as I had always dreamed of being a teacher. However, my passion was in supporting small business owners and it is important to follow your passion! I took the leap of faith and made the career change and could not be happier.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
We have loved selling online through our website https://mainstreetmarkets.shop/ powered by Shopify. This has allowed our small business to reach a larger audience and display the amazing selection of our artisans to those who may not be local to our shop in Acworth, as we offer shipping. We have also enjoyed the “pick up in store” feature, as it has shown that even locals love to shop online and pick up. It has been a great tool for increasing our reach!
