We recently connected with Jenna Waltz and have shared our conversation below.
Jenna , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Cultivate was a business that was dreamt up in the midst of the pandemic. My personal healing journey had started years earlier when, faced with life’s complexities, I welcomed our second child a day after experiencing a tragic loss in our family. I had always felt that I had a deeper purpose on this earth, but I was uncertain about what that purpose was.
One morning in July of 2021 I awoke with a sudden realization and turned to my husband, sharing, ‘Nothing of true value and importance can be taken from us, everything that truly matters is within!’ I think he probably thought I was crazy, but that message and that day has stayed with me since. That day I envisioned an absolutely beautiful event that would bring people together, helping them discover their inner strength and breaking down self-imposed barriers. This event would help people recognize the power we all have within and help to slowly tear down the walls we have created to protect ourselves. By the end of October 2021 I was able to bring together 130 women who all felt the urge to come and connect with one another, pour into themselves and not let anything stop them. This was no small feat in 2021 when many things were working against us.
My life’s mission is to guide others, and myself, in uncovering our true selves, leading us back to the purest purpose of this lifetime. I can provide the tools and the safe space to open this journey up for so many and beyond that I have since created many online spaces to help people continue this journey with like minded folk. I’m committed to walking alongside anyone who chooses to join me, ensuring a judgment-free journey.
Currently, we’re gearing up for our 4th Summit in Cochrane, AB, on March 15 and 16, which promises to be our largest gathering with 200 participants. Witnessing people enter with fear and uncertainty, only to leave feeling loved, seen, and empowered, has become my passion. I’m dedicated to continuing this transformative work in various ways, always striving to create spaces where individuals can embark on their unique journeys of self-discovery.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Jenna Waltz, and my world revolves around our cattle ranch near Vermilion, AB, where my husband, our four children (all aged 9 and under), and I tend to our 160 Purebred Simmental Cattle. With a heritage deeply rooted in farming traditions passed down through generations, my heart beats with an enduring passion for the agriculture industry.
I’ve always sensed that there are alternative ways of doing things, but breaking away from the norm, both in life and business, was a struggle. It wasn’t until the pandemic hit that I felt a strong compulsion to take action and finally begin to challenge the status quo in a bigger way, marking the beginning of my journey to recognize and embrace my inner power.
While my love for agriculture remains steadfast, a newfound passion has taken root—one that revolves around guiding others, helping them uncover their unique passions, and nurturing their inner trust. This mission lights a fire within me, extending beyond the boundaries of traditional farming.
I also have 4 children as mentioned above, My children are my pride and joy but also my greatest teachers. I recognized the power of my events with adults and knew I needed to bring this all to the children as well. Cultivate Wellness is also the host to Cultivate Kids Retreat! This is a 3 day event held in the summer focused around empowering kids and teaching them all sorts of skills ranging from self trust, human design, sound therapy, foraging and fire starting skills. We have hosted 2 Kids Retreats near Vermilion AB with the 3rd one planned for early July 2024.
Witnessing the birth of these close-knit communities and observing incredible transformations over just a few short days fills me with immense pride. The creation of online spaces has proven instrumental, providing others with the platform to continue their own journeys toward self-empowerment and self-discovery, peeling back layers to reveal their true potential. My story is more than just the daily operations of a cattle ranch; it’s about sowing the seeds of personal growth and empowerment within a supportive community.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I am a farm girl through and through. Hard work and strength flow through my veins. Juggling the responsibilities of a farm, a husband, four children (one of whom is homeschooled), a menagerie of animals, an off-farm job, my own business, and managing three kids in hockey and one in dance, might seem like a daunting feat. Yet, amidst the chaos, I still carve out time for myself.
My intention in sharing this isn’t to seek praise or admiration, but rather to showcase the incredible capabilities and resilience within each of us. Life rarely unfolds according to the plans I’ve crafted in my mind, leading me to abandon the idea of planning altogether. I’ve learned to surrender to the greater forces at play and flow with whatever each day brings my way.
In this journey, I want to emphasize that achieving all the desires we harbor is entirely possible. I’ve faced setbacks repeatedly, yet I manage to keep all the balls in the air because I’ve reached a point where I discern what truly matters. If it doesn’t ignite my passion, it’s not worth my energy. The dreams we all harbor are within arm’s reach; we just need to trust the law of attraction and immerse ourselves in the emotions surrounding those dreams and passions.
Embracing self-trust and surrender has become my greatest resilience, especially as my life has not become less busy; rather, it’s become enriched with more activities, passions, and friendships. Over the past three years, this journey has been a testament to my resilience, illustrating that the more we trust, the more empowered we become, and subsequently, the less ‘resilient’ we need to be.
Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
As I mentioned earlier, the vision for the Cultivate Wellness Summit was gifted to me in a dream back in July 2021, and remarkably, our inaugural event unfolded in October of the same year.
Since then, I’ve immersed myself in the realm of human design, discovering that I am a manifestor. Unveiling this aspect of my identity has been a liberating revelation, realizing that I don’t have to keep pace with everyone around me and that I’m destined to be struck with creative urges to act upon. The dream that led to the Culltivate event and and the subsequent ones, was one such creative urge, as manifestors can often bring ideas to life in an incredibly short span compared to other human design types.
Against all odds, I orchestrated the gathering of 130 participants, 14 speakers, 10 practitioners, and 15 vendors in just over 3.5 months, right in the midst of a pandemic!
Numerous challenges stood in my way as I navigated this journey almost entirely on my own. I confronted unexpected mandates and rules, yet against all odds, I pulled off the unimaginable.
Witnessing people enter the event space with visible fear and apprehension—encouraged to stay home and limit contact with others—transform into an atmosphere where masks came off, hugs were exchanged, and a renewed sense of hope for life emerged, is an indelible image etched in my memory.
The event faced numerous hurdles, with 130 individuals defying the odds to show up for themselves. It was an embodiment of pure self-empowerment at its finest!
