We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jenna Sanchez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jenna below.
Jenna, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I knew I had a knack for organization, planning and events, but did not find myself to be interested in Coordination and Planning of Weddings. I went on to College studying Business Administration, Marketing & Management, and this is when I reached out via a quick Direct Message on Instagram to a Wedding & Event Planner located near me. She so graciously took me on as an Assistant, showed me the love of Wedding and Event Planning & Coordination, and I flourished from there! I reached out to a Wedding Venue located near my home, and worked there for about a year as I began my own Business, while still working as an Assistant with the Wedding & Event Planner I started with. In February of 2022, I launched Infinity Rose Events Co, and have not looked back since. I was a Junior in College at the time I launched the business, got engaged 2 months later, and got married the following year! I learned how to plan my own Wedding, as well as so many others in this short amount of time. I graduated College with a Bachelors in Business Administration and Minors in Marketing and Management. At this time in my business, I had over 40 Weddings in the books for that current year and the next. All because of a little risk I took, that felt so right in my heart, but so terrifying to make. I now plan Weddings and Events for clients around the Tulsa, OKC and Stillwater area, and truly make dreams come to life! I have Weddings booked at dream venues like the Philbrook Museum of Art, the Mansion at Woodward Park, The Mayo, The Tulsa Club Hotel, Spain Ranch and Dream Point Ranch!
I was so nervous to take this first step, but everything fell into place one after another! I fully trusted in the path that was being created for me, and am so glad I took the risk to reach out one late evening via Direct Message!
Jenna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I shared a bit about how I got into the industry on the previous slide, but here’s some more backstory! I am one of 6 Children who grew up in the Restaurant and Service Industry. I began hostessing and waiting tables at my parents restaurant, Jamil’s Steakhouse, when I was 14 years old. I continued to work all through high school, missing out on friend events and social gatherings, because the weekends were the busiest day to work. I made lots of commitments growing up, that shaped me into the person I became. I bought my first home when I was 20 years old, and my first car when I was 18. I learned how to grow up pretty quickly, and got my ducks in a row faster than I could’ve dreamt of. My one goal: work from home. I dreaded scheduled work hours each day, and so when my own business came about, it brought my dream to life! I stopped my full-time day job, and dove fully into Infinity Rose Events Co.
I am proud of the business it has become, all of the sacrifices I took to get here, and all of the support I have had along the way. Every single bride that I consult with, we may not be the best fit, but they truly have an impact on me! I learn more and more everyday, from every Wedding and Consultation. Each Bride who allows me to be a small part of their big Wedding day, has changed my life for the future! They have become some close friends, and people I will continuously root for in life. Their days are full of so much love, thankfulness, and happiness, and I could not thank them enough for choosing us to help them on one of the most important days of their life.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I launched my business, I launched it primarily on Instagram and Facebook. I had my website created and created a Google MyBusiness page for it as well. Instagram has been my biggest source for finding new clients (or more commonly, them finding me). I grew from 0 Followers to almost 1.700 in the course of the past 19 Months. I am very proud of the amount of followers I have gained, surpassing my personal Instagram page. I believe that I have a great following on Social Media by following and supporting other people in the industry (Liking, Commenting, Sharing, etc.). As well as, rooting for other members in the industry and sharing in their successes! The Wedding and Event Industry in Tulsa, OK and nearby cities is absolutely amazing. Everyone supports everyone, and no one vendor competes against another. We truly all enjoy each others successes and support one another wholeheartedly. There are enough clients to go around!
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
One of my favorite marketing stories! Ah! I had this dream ever since I first opened my business, to become a Brides of OK (now called “Wed Society – Oklahoma”) Preferred Vendor. This was a privately owned Wedding Professional Business, that showcased the prettiest Weddings around the Oklahoma area. To be a Preferred Vendor with them, is truly an honor. They only have the best of the best vendors apart of their circle. I was asked to join Brides of OK (now called “Wed Society – Oklahoma”) in February of 2023, and I truly jumped for joy! I believe once I became more established, and they were able to see my many bookings of Weddings approaching, they saw I had good things in store, and believed in me. It is a Marketing object to Budget for each month, but I have found it to be so worth it. I am proud to be a Preferred Vendor, and Brides & Future Clients are able to find me through them as well.
