We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jenna Poell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jenna below.
Jenna, appreciate you joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
It is not until we get older that we are truly able to appreciate a parents’ love and the sacrifices they make. I have such admiration for my beautiful mother and the impact she has made in my life. My mother worked tirelessly to raise three children on her own, never hesitating to do what was necessary to ensure she provided a good life for me and my siblings. My mother embodies all the fundamental attributes of a strong woman with integrity. Not only is she kind, generous, and loving, but she instilled in me the fortitude to uphold my values and morals which have led me to become a strong and intuitive practitioner. I have been able to accomplish my goals because of her continuous support and encouragement. My mother is my greatest inspiration, and because of her, I have learned to follow my heart and to live my life with kindness and compassion.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). I was inspired at a very young age by the ancient wisdom of Eastern medicine. I admire the thousands of years of philosophy intertwined with the many facets of ancient healing modalities that TCM encompasses. Battling my own health issues and struggling with a strictly Western medicine approach, led me to the benefits of TCM. As a practitioner, I believe that to best serve my patients, it is crucial to continually strive for knowledge, self-improvement and to explore the benefits of both Eastern and Western medicine. Confucius, one of the great minds of TCM, provided a roadmap for the journey of self-improvement, to include continual learning, humility, confidence, commitment, and overcoming the fear of revealing one’s own ignorance. I strive to do my best to serve all my patients and I am grateful for the growth and opportunity that comes with the responsibility of being a Doctor of TCM.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
One of the most important tools to use as a practitioner is the ability to see outside the physical construct of how to attain true health. Healing can manifest itself in various ways. As many of us in Western culture attribute health to being physically fit, it is much more than that. True health begins with harmony of spirit, mind, and body. The healing process starts with reconnecting you to your true essence. It starts with knowing there is always a purpose behind the work we do on our own healing journey. The journey begins with the highest form of healing which I believe to be spiritual. Connecting to the spiritual aspect of self allows for true alignment to be achieved. Each and every one of us deserve to be uplifted, healthy and free from sickness. We are energetic beings and balancing our energy through our meridians or chakras allows us to connect with those subtle energies that are seemingly impalpable. For those wondering how to begin their spiritual journey, I generally suggest people start by connecting to their breath. Deep diaphragm breathing not only alters your blood flow and enhances the body’s electromagnetic field but it connects you to the present moment and your true essence. Therefore, breathwork enhances your body’s natural healing mechanism.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
One of the most valued self-growth workshops I have participated in was with Mary Morrissey and the Brave Thinking Institute. It teaches transformation in the way we think and create in our lives. The human condition is to do what is comfortable but to grow and be expansive we must first learn that it takes time to install a new pattern and way of thinking. This workshop taught me that if you want something you must be relentless, endure the obstacles, face defeat and doubt; all while keeping the life you envision in mind and never give up on it. You have to create your dream in order to advance by endeavoring to live the life your heart imagines. From my own experience I believe in order to be truly successful there must be some spiritual development. Just like success is a learnable skill, I believe attaining health is a learnable skill that I hope to teach my patients with the tools I learned from this incredible transformational workshop.
