Alright, Jenna-Monet thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In my opinion, to achieve the ultimate level of success in anything in life requires dedication & most importantly consistency. In launching Jenna-Monét Béauty in 2021, it has shown me that in order to spread brand awareness I’d have to show up day to day via social media, word of mouth, in any way I could, in order for others to know of Jenna-Monet Béauty & its brand message, “determined to enhance your natural béauty”. Currently, Jenna-Monét Béauty has been acknowledged by OFF Town Magazine NYC, Caribbean Posh, JG Management USVI, Miss New York USA 2024, Love Flaws Foundation & soon to CanvasRebel Magazine.

Jenna-Monet, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Jenna-Monét Queeley born and raised in St.Croix, US Virgin Islands. My introduction into entrepreneurship began in 2021 as a model in New York City. I worked with various brands, from Tom Ford Beauty, Mac Cosmetics, L’Oréal & thought that I can create a brand of my own, with its own unique & special message. Catering to inclusivity & acknowledging the imperfect beauty standard projected through society under the #IREPRESENTBEAUTY movement. #IREPRESENTBEAUTY acknowledges that women of all ages, ethnicities exemplify beauty in their own unique way. In September of 2021, Jenna-Monét Béauty launched affordable yet luxurious beauty products from mascara, lipsticks, highlighters, eyeshadow palettes & more. As someone who’s indulges in makeup, Jenna-Monét Beauty caters to everyone beginners, connoisseurs, & pro makeup artists. More recently, we realized the importance of compact travel friendly make up, & have since launched beauty products that consumers can have on the go. Since launching Jenna-Monét Béauty, I am most proud of starting a brand & remaining consistent in where I see it going; its impact as an inspiration to others wanting to start a business or any vision. If God gave you the idea, he’ll help you bring it to life & then some.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Prior to launching Jenna-Monét Béauty, I started an instagram page initially sharing my makeup tips and tricks. The intent was to build a trust with my audience in regards to makeup; I did this for a few months while preparing for the launch of Jenna-Monét Béauty. As I saw my instagram page grow with a higher engagement, I then strategized on the best time to announce the beauty line. I think that was the best way to build rapport, rather than starting an instagram page selling makeup without my followers trusting my expertise.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
Luckily for me, I funded my business myself & still do. I’d always suggest as a small business owner to fund your business yourself if you’re able to than take a loan from the bank.
