We were lucky to catch up with Jenna Kopka recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jenna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

From the start of my business, I have always wanted to make sure that every couple can afford and also feel comfortable in front of the camera lens, I also want them to feel like their love story is coming to life.

My mission is and has been to provide affordable wedding photography coverage but also incredible work so that everyone has amazing photographs to look back on their wedding day. I strive to connect and make my couples feel comfortable by shooting documentary style, so if the end of the day other people looks at their wedding photos and can see how in love, they are then I have done my job.

Jenna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’m Jenna, the proud owner and lead photographer of this venture. My journey in wedding photography started back in 2015 when I fell head over heels for the art. At the time, I was also pursuing my teaching degree, so wedding photography became my delightful side hustle.

Fast forward to 2020, a year of unexpected turns. With the world slowing down, intimate weddings took center stage. I found myself at the crossroads of passion and profession, with couples reaching out for their love stories to be captured. Now, three years later, I’ve turned this passion into my lifelong career along with teaching!

I truly believe that choosing your wedding vendors is not just about finding someone to capture moments; it’s about selecting individuals who will cheer you on, be your biggest fans, and navigate the day with you. When you choose me, you’re not just getting a photographer; you’re gaining a supporter who ensures your important moments are captured and your timeline flows seamlessly, even though the unexpected.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

I wish I had known about the app unscripted to help with prompts and client posing. I wonder what my work would like now if I had known about it earlier.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

REVIEWS from past clients and word of mouth! I can not tell you how many times I have gotten emails from people who say “You captured so and so’s wedding and I loved your work!”

Word of mouth is so important to building my business and also expanding my clientele! As well as reviews; they help so much with showing potential clients what you like/did not like about working with me or also what you loved about my work as well.
