We recently connected with Jenna Griffith and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenna, thanks for joining us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
I wish I had started my business much earlier than 2021. In fact, I began making body scrubs towards the end of 2015, but I felt that I lacked the financial resources and time to expand it further. During that time, I was primarily focused on my stationery designs and caring for my infant and preschooler. Looking back, I believe that if I had started my bath and body business back then, I would have had potential opportunities that I might have missed by starting it years later. On the other hand, 2020 brought about significant changes in the world, so perhaps it was right to postpone starting my bath and body business. I have encountered numerous great opportunities since then, and I choose not to dwell on the “what ifs.” I am just so thankful for what I have been able to build in the time I have been able to build it.

Jenna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have always had a strong interest in developing and creating bath and body products, as I had previously made sugar scrubs. In 2020, I started working for a local esthetician who rekindled my passion for skincare product development. When my boys and I discovered our love for using bath bombs, I decided to specialize in creating bath bombs and various other bath and body products. From that point on, I dedicated myself to learning everything I could about these products and the chemistry behind them.
I consider my brand to be vibrant, modern yet retro, and fun, while also striving for transparency. I make it a priority to listen to my customers’ preferences, whether it’s related to designs, scents, colors, or even specific ingredient requests. I take immense pride in the love and care I put into creating these products for all of my customers.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe that my community has played a crucial role in shaping my reputation and achieving success. I consider myself to be a kind and compassionate person, and these traits are evident in my work. The unwavering support of my friends and family has served as a strong foundation for me, keeping me motivated and determined. I am truly grateful to be a part of my close-knit community. Other local makers have also been instrumental in contributing to my reputation. Even artisans within the bath and body industry have shown incredible kindness and support, and I am incredibly appreciative of them .
In addition, maintaining high-quality products has been vital in establishing my reputation within the market. I make it a point to source what I am able to locally and prioritize obtaining products of the highest quality to offer the best possible goods to my local customers. Continuous self-education and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends are imperative to effectively cater to customers’ needs.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Hello Goodbye Bath Treats started as a side business at the start of 2021. At the time, I was employed full-time by a local esthetician, and for several months, I dedicated my efforts to learning as much as possible and refining the art of creating bath bombs. Later on, I began participating in various markets and soon realized that I could envision myself transforming this side hustle into a full-fledged business.
Meanwhile, my husband commutes out of town for work, resulting in long days for him. In light of this, I knew this was an amazing opportunity to balance the roles of a homemaker and a business owner, while also being able to stay at home with our children. With the unwavering support of my husband, friends, and family, I made the decision to leave my full-time position as an office manager and pursue my business endeavor on a full-time basis.
I am now proud to say that I am featured in several artisan shops and continue to participate in various markets throughout the year. This journey has been truly amazing.
